Dagh and Arr continue their hunger strike in KDP prisons for 50th day

The two Kurdish youths, Mazlum Dagh and Abd al-Rahman Arr, were convicted of premeditated murder and sentenced to death, after they were accused of attempting to assassinate Othman Kusa, head of the Turkish consulate in Hewler, southern Kurdistan, on July 17, 2019, according to Firat News Agency.

The agency said that: "Since the first day of Dagh and Arr in Hewler prison, a series of violations committed against them, and Mazlum Dagh and Abd al-Rahman Arr began a hunger strike on May 18.

Today, their hunger strike in Hewler prison, which is controlled by the Kurdistan Democratic Party, entered its 50th day.

It is noteworthy that Mazlum Dagh and Abd al-Rahman Arr began their hunger strike on September 28, 2022, to protest the torture practiced against them, and they ended this hunger strike on the fourteenth day; their demands were accept at that time, then the two detainees returned to their hunger strike on February 13, 2022, in protest to the violation of their rights, and ended it on the ninth day after pledging to end the violations.
