Turkey looms once again with “Misak-i Milli”

Erdogan appears on television every time, talking about the conspiracies and endangering his national security, brandishing the Misak-i Milli as sword, threatening everyone, “You will pay a heavy price,” forgetting to endanger Arab, Kurdish, and Greek security. Once again, Turkey presented the maps for the occupation of Syria and Iraq, while hosting a conference Turkmen on its territory.

The Kurds, along with the peoples of the region, stood as an impenetrable dam in front of Erdogan's expansionist project in restoring the new Ottoman Empire and drawing maps of the alleged " Misak-i Milli ". Today, Erdogan is resorting to other tricks by hosting the Turkmen conference in Syria and Iraq recently.

And it showed a map that includes large parts of Syria and Iraq, inhabited by a mixture of Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Assyrians, Armenians, Turkmens and other nationalities, in a gesture that illustrates the Turkish intentions to continue dragging the region into an unrelenting war.

With the imminent expiration of the ominous Lausanne Agreement, Turkish illusions are reawakening by reintroducing and promoting Misak-i Milli that angers the peoples who have been plundered and lost their lands. The Turkish regime is moving to legislate for itself this agreement to revive the history of the Ottomans ahead of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne.

Any explanation that attempts to understand the dangerous Turkish military moves cannot be explained in isolation from history. The Misak-i Milli has become a sword that Erdogan is waving to threaten neighboring countries, and he is always talking about his project in all time.

The texts of the Sevres Agreement of 1920 stipulated the establishment of a Kurdish and Armenian state, but Ataturk disavowed the provisions of the agreement and pushed the West to the Lausanne Agreement, abandoning the borders of the Misak-i Milli after signing the Lausanne Treaty of 1923 and drawing the current Turkish borders.

The outlines of Misak-i Milli at the Erzurum Conference 1919 and the Sivas Conference 1919 constituted the Misak-i Milli, and this document is for geographical lines issued by the Ottomans, the founders of the Republic of Turkey.

Talk about an Ottoman project in the region was denied by the Turks, and Abdullah Gül, who was elected as a member of parliament for the Welfare Party in 1991, was the first to talk about this charter in 1992, and he said: “I see that these discussions are about concepts, such as the Second Republic or the new Ottoman Empire.”

At the beginning of 2011, bloody events and chaos were taking place in the Middle East. Turkey took advantage of this loophole as a once-in-a-lifetime golden opportunity to intervene in Syria.

Ankara began implementing the plan, through its proxies ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra, it occupied the Syrian cities (Idlib, Afrin, Azaz, al-Bab, Jarabulus, Serêkaniyê, Girê Spî), in stages, with its eyes set on Mosul and Kirkuk, this annoying neighbor that is causing the rift to heal. For others, Libya and Greece harass and harass from time to time.

Erdogan had previously called during his visit to Greece in late 2017 to update the Lausanne Agreement, and the visit was preceded by his assertion: "Lausanne was a loss for his country," when he said: "Some of them want to convince us that the Lausanne Treaty is a victory, where is the victory in it? We have lost some of our islands in the Aegean Sea for the benefit of Greece".

To implement this project, Turkey has always supported the Muslim Brotherhood groups, Erdogan's long arm in striking and threatening neighboring countries. And it enabled the transformation of radical Islamic groups into mercenaries on call fighting in Syria and Libya, and a tool to enhance Turkey's role in the Middle East.

Erdogan revealed the secret of his plans publicly and suggested that he was about to fix what Ataturk had spoiled. In October 2016, he showed his muscles after he was excluded from participating in the campaign to liberate Mosul from ISIS mercenaries.

Erdogan responded angrily and said: "In Mosul, history lies to us, and if the honorable gentlemen (referring to the Iraqi government) want to verify this, they should read the Misak-i Milli to understand the meaning of Mosul for us. Mosul was ours, and we have historical rights in Kirkuk."

Erdogan had made very dangerous statements in conjunction with the preparations for the genocide against the residents of the occupied city of Afrin in 2018, and claimed: "Northern Syria was within the borders of the Misak-i Milli. The borders of the Misak are where (terrorism) is now located in northern Syria and Iraq."

Ankara always shows its hatred, seeking to the restoration of the Ottoman Empire. After the occupation of the Syrian cities, Erdogan announced that he would return a million refugees to what he calls the "safe zone", to settle strangers in place of more than 300,000 forcibly displaced people, thus drawing part of the map of the Misak-i Milli.

The occupation changed the features, architecture, and demography of the occupied Syrian regions and their identity in terms of changing the names of cities, squares, and villages, as well as raising their flags above them, and imposing their currency and language on the people.

From Syria to Iraq, the occupation continues and the pretext is (fighting terrorism). The authorities in Southern Kurdistan did not learn from previous experiences and mortgaged themselves to Turkey. Erdogan had threatened the authorities in 2017 to take down the Kurdish flag that was raised in the city of Kirkuk, warning: "Do not begin to claim that it is yours." That is, Kirkuk, otherwise the price will be high."

In September 2017, Erdogan described the referendum that took place in Başûr Kurdistan as an act of treason, and threatened to take economic measures and military, ground and air steps against it.

However, the authorities in Southern Kurdistan took the opposite approach and lost Kirkuk, and instead of sending a force to re-take it, they directed convoys of their "Parasten" intelligence service towards the areas of freedom fighters to help Turkey fight them, and this is how their patriotism standards are measured.

In order to achieve its economic goals, the Kurdistan Democratic Party legitimizes the Turkish interventions under the name of Turkish national security and its right to fight the fighters of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement.

Recently, with the help of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Turkey besieged the vicinity of the city of Kirkuk and Mosul with military bases, in preparation for the attack on the two cities.

So the danger is inevitably coming, the plan is clear and explicit and is considered the most dangerous plan, and all indicators and data indicate that Turkey is seeking to find a loophole to start occupying Kirkuk, Mosul, Aleppo, and Northern and East Syria, in 2023 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Lausanne Agreement.

Erdogan is engaged in a race to obtain approval to enable him to continue his colonial plans, and to hold secret and public talks with Russia, America, and Iran, announcing his urgent desire to obtain approval to enable him to undertake a new military operation.

Turkish expansionist attempts collide with the wall of peoples who were not treated fairly by the world and denied their efforts in ominous agreements concluded 100 years ago. They armed themselves together after they were separated by roads under the roof of the Syrian Democratic Forces to rein in the new Ottoman Empire.

The areas of the Autonomous Administration, small in their geography and large in their strategy, are an integral part of the Syrian equation, standing alone as a strong barrier against the ambitions of the Turkish occupation state aimed at restoring the new Ottoman Empire and the Misak-i Mili that endangers the Arab-Kurdish national security.

Turkey played the most dangerous role in Syria, supporting extremists with money and weapons under the pretext of overthrowing the Damascus government. It contributed greatly to facilitating the passage of extremists joining ISIS through its territory to Syria. It turned the occupied Syrian regions into the largest outpost and gathering of the first leaders in the ranks of ISIS mercenaries and changed its identity and features.

With the approach of the Turkish elections, Erdogan had sought to clear his problems with the Gulf states, after a round of tampering with the region and threatening others, but this depended on Erdogan disengaging from the Muslim Brotherhood and withdrawing from the areas it occupied.

Erdogan failed to bring the Brotherhood to power in Egypt and Tunisia, so he has now moved to promoting the Misak-i Mili, which angers the Gulf and the Arabs and constitutes a direct threat to Arab national security.

This Turkish challenge was apparent one day before the Arab summit, where the Turkish occupation interior minister, Suleiman, revealed their next plan, and said: "We will attack the region, Aleppo falls in the Misak-i Mili," and also indicated that they would occupy the Syrian-Iraqi borders.

It seems that Erdogan's victory in the recent presidential elections revived his hopes of continuing the project of building the new Ottoman state. The Misak-i Mili and the #New-Ottomans... The culture of colonialism is endemic to the thought of justice and development and its national partner

A day later, Bashar al-Assad attacked Erdogan during his participation for the first time in the Arab Summit, describing him: "He carries an expansionist ideology derived from the Ottoman era, grafted with a perverted Brotherhood flavour."

Erdogan aspires for the year 2023 to be dyed and mixed with blood, especially as we are approaching the centenary of Lausanne, which coincides with June 24. The colonial tendency is still fresh of Turkish nationalists, and the occupation of İskenderun, Afrin, Jarabulus, Al-Bab, Azaz, Idlib, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi is before the eyes of those who want to know Erdogan’s goals.
