​​​​​​​AANES areas are a safe shelter of fleeing families from Turkish occupation atrocities

Like the residents of the rest of the areas occupied by Turkey in Syria, the people in the occupied Girê Spî canton suffer from difficult living conditions and an exorbitantly high price of basic materials for their livelihood, starting from bread and water to fuel, under the control of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

In addition to the lack of security, security chaos, and the continuation of crimes against the residents of the canton, and some aspects of life in it, such as education, health, and others, which forces the rest of the canton's residents to leave their homes and take refuge in the nearby Autonomous Administration areas, such as the city of Raqqa and its countryside.

The council of the occupied Girê Spî canton revealed, earlier to our reporter, that 256 families from the occupied canton had arrived in the Autonomous Administration areas, during the last 3 months.

According to the information obtained by ANHA’s agency from the district council, which is based in Ain Issa district, the families fled from the center of Girê Spî, the town of Suluk, the villages of al-Zaidi and other occupied areas of the Girê Spî canton.

In this regard, the deputy co-chairmanship of the occupied Girê Spî canton council, Hazaa Mohammad, indicated that the immoral pressures and practices by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries are increasing and multiplying against the population of the occupied areas.

He added, in an interview with ANHA’s agency, that this is being done "with the aim of emptying it of the indigenous population in preparation for changing its demography and housing mercenaries by giving them the property of the displaced people as privileges."

He pointed out that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries are freely committing all "their crimes in the occupied areas, with the cover and condolence of the international powers, from which we have not found any movement until the moment."

Regarding the mechanism for receiving the displaced from the occupied areas, Hazaa explained that the Tal al-Samen camp designated for the displaced from Girê Spî has stopped its capacity at 6,800 displaced people, so they head to the city of Raqqa and its countryside, especially in light of the clan and family ties they have with the residents of the city of Raqqa, which secures their living requirements. which they lacked in the occupied territories.

On the 14th and 17th of this month, the occupied Girê Spî canton witnessed massive demonstrations by its residents, denouncing the deteriorating living situation, high prices, and security chaos.

During the first year of the occupation of the canton, following the Turkish state’s occupation attack on the canton and Serêkaniyê region on October 9, 2019, the occupied Girê Spî canton council documented the displacement of more than 100,000 of the canton’s original population out of 170,000, who went to the cities of Raqqa. Tabqa, Kobani and its countryside.

While 6,800 displaced people resided in the Girê Spî camp, which was established by the Autonomous Administration on November 22 of the same year, near the village of Tal al-Saman (35 km north of Raqqa).
