​​​​​​​Women in Afrin - al-Shahba: We will continue the struggle of Yusra, Lyman

The members of the Kongra Star Council in Afrin and al-Shahba canton spoke to ANHA’s agency about the attack launched by the Turkish occupation state on the twentieth of this month of June.

On the 20th of this month, the Turkish occupation state launched an air attack on the road between Tirbespiyê and Qamishlo, as a Turkish march targeted a car near the village of Tal Shair, which resulted in the martyrdom of both the co-chair of the Qamishlo Canton Council, Yusra Darwish, and the co-chair of the council, Lyman. Shawish, and Council member Furat Touma, in addition to the co-chair of the Council, Kabi Shimon.

Rihan Alo explained that the Turkish occupation state pursues a policy of genocide against the Kurdish people, and she said: "With these attacks, they seek to obliterate the will of the people, especially women, so that they do not organize themselves, and this is the reason for their continuous attacks on the region. The Turkish state has always targeted the Kurds throughout history."

Rihan Alo affirmed their constant readiness to resist in the face of the attacks, and demanded an end to the crimes and practices of the Turkish occupation state in the regions of North and East Syria. She concluded by saying, "Enough with the practices of the Turkish state. It's time for freedom, it's time to prove our existence."

As for Amina Suleiman, she explained that the Turkish occupation state is planning dirty plans against the regions of North and East Syria, and she said: "What does the Turkish state want from us? If it has what it wants, then it should confront us. Its targeting of our leaders and pilots with its planes is a disgrace. Let the Turkish state be ashamed of itself."

Amina continued her speech, saying, "We yearn for love, freedom, and brotherhood. We condemn the attacks of the Turkish state, and we affirm that it will not be able to eliminate the project of the democratic nation, because our project is based on the brotherhood of peoples."

Leila Ibish indicated that targeting the two pioneering women, Yusra and Lyman, is a targeting of the women's revolution, and she said: "Targeting the two pioneering and vanguard women is targeting the will of women. We condemn this policy, and we will follow the footsteps of our pioneers with struggle and resistance. The Rojava revolution is a revolution for women, so we will stick to our revolution.”
