People of Hasaka slam Turkish attacks, leader's isolation

On Sunday, thousands of residents of the city of Hasaka and al-Shaddadi took part in two separate mass demonstrations to condemn the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and the Turkish attacks on NE Syria.

The demonstration in the city of Hasaka started in front of the Sinalco roundabout, located in the Tal Hajar neighborhood of the city, and headed towards the garden of leader Abdullah Ocalan in the Nasira neighborhood.

 The participants chanted the slogans "No to the Turkish occupation and its attacks on NE Syria", "Women are the symbol of freedom", and "Long live for the leader Ocalan".

Upon the demonstrators' arrival at the garden of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, they observed a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, then the member of the Young Women's Movement, Jinda Ali, gave a speech, in which she explained: "The capitalist countries, through their conspiracy against the leader wanted to eliminate Kurdish culture and language."

Ali noted: "Imrali prison has become a center of culture, as dozens of historical, cultural and scientific books were published from it, and spread throughout the world."

For his part, the deputy co-presidency of Hasaka Canton Council, Farouk Tuzu, said  "The repeated Turkish attacks on NE Syria are against the will of our people, and they are an attempt to undermine our democratic experience."

He explained, "We gathered here today to say openly and loudly that the Turkish occupation state's goal are to thwart the project of Autonomous Administration."

Tuzu noted that the Turkish occupation state, with its cowardly actions, targets the best of the people in NE Syria, and said: "The Turkish occupier brought armed groups into all regions of Syria, and now it is trying to negotiate with the Syrian regime under the pretext of finding a solution to the Syrian crisis."

Tuzu pointed out that those who commit violations and crimes against the people of NE Syria are the same ones who impose isolation on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, fearing his ideology and philosophy.

In the town of Al-Arisha, the Al-Shadadi district council, in coordination with Kongra Star, organized a demonstration, which started in front of the people's municipality in the town, passing through the main street and reaching the town council, chanting slogans denouncing the attacks of the Turkish occupation.

The administrator of the Women's House in the town of Al-Arisha, Souad Al-Abdullah, delivered a speech in which she denounced the Turkish attacks against women, especially the co-chair of the Qamishlo Council, Yusra Darwish, and Lyman Shweish, and said: "These martyrs have become bright stars in the sky of our struggle, through their sacrifices and struggle.”

Then a speech was delivered on behalf of the Martyrs' Families Council by the council's administrator, Zahra al-Abdullah, in which she condemned the Turkish occupation's attacks on the region, stressing that the Turkish occupation is committing genocide against the people of NE Syria.
