​​​​​​​Barakat: People's unity enough to thwart efforts of achieve Ottoman project

The speech of Kanaan Barakat, came during his assessment of the political developments in the Middle East and Syria, especially what is taking place in NE Syria, in a public meeting organized by the party today, in Çil Agha district, Qamishlo Canton.

The meeting was attended by hundreds of residents of Çil Agha district and its villages, as well as members of civil institutions and councils, the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement, the Young Women Union and members of Kongra Star.

Barakat touched on the massacre that the Turkish occupation state committed in Qamishlo yesterday, and indicated that the Turkish occupation attacks on the NE Syria are not new and aim to revive the Ottoman project by occupying the lands of the region.

Yesterday, the Turkish occupation state targeted a car of the Qamishlo Canton Council on the road between the city of Qamishlo and Tirbespiyê district, which resulted in the martyrdom of the co-chair of the Canton Council, Yusra Darwish, the deputy co-chair of the Council, Lyman Shiwesh, and the member of the Canton Council, Furat Toma.

Barakat stressed the need for the people of the region to escalate the struggle, stressing that the people's solidarity is sufficient to confront the attacks and thwart the cultural and physical genocide plans pursued by the Turkish occupation stateç
