Elham Ahmed: Women must organise their ranks to defeat private war

Kongra Star organized a special meeting for women in Dêrik, Qamishlo canton today to raise awareness of the dangers of private war and ways to combat it, in addition to how to strengthen the people's communes.

The meeting was held at the Dijla Center for Culture and Art in Dêrik, with the participation of the head of the Executive Body of the Syrian Democratic Council, Elham Ahmed, and dozens of women in communes, councils and service institutions in the city.

Role of communes in warning women of dangers of private war

The meeting began with a minute's silence on the souls of the martyrs, Elham Ahmed then touched on the effects of the private war on women by saying, "Women and men fall victim to the private war, as we see an increase in suicides because of  the private war."

She noted the role of service institutions and communes in warning women of the dangers of private war, and said in this context: "Women must be prevented from falling into the traps of private war because they represent the will of societies, so with their ideas and struggle, society is liberated from authoritarian mentality and authoritarian regimes."

She Indicated that these regimes are trying, by pursuing a policy of special war to eliminate women revolution in NE Syria.

Ahmed called on all women to unite and  knowledge in order to solve their problems within society, and to strengthen their organization in the face of the private war.

During the meeting Ahmed urged all women in the communes to activate and activate their communes, and to play an effective role by saying: "The commune is the basis for organizing societies and a center for solidarity and finding solutions."

The meeting ended with asking a number of questions about the nature of the private war and its methods, while others pledged to strengthen their organization in order to eliminate everything that targets women and tries to undermine their will.

Kongra Star in Qamishlo canton launched a series of special meetings for women in all the districts, cities and towns of the canton, to shed light on the reality of women and the challenges and obstacles they face, and to raise awareness of the dangers of private war.
