​​​​​​​Leader's solation is crime against humanity

The Turkish authorities impose strict isolation against the leader Abdullah Ocalan, under the pretext of the so-called "disciplinary penalties", the most recent of which was on April 26. These penalties arouse discontent of NE Syria people amid calls for the need to hold the Turkish occupation state accountable for its violations against the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Jurist Shadi al-Ibrahim, from the city of al-Tabqa, said: "The hostile policy of the Turkish occupation state, its manipulation and violation of all legal conditions and obligations, which it signed through international treaties with European human rights organizations, is well known to anyone."

Al-Ibrahim stated: "24 years have passed since the arrest of the leader, and in international laws and rulings the term of life imprisonment is 22 years. However, Turkey violated those laws amid a shameful international inaction."

Al-Ibrahim emphasized: "We, human rights activists, must work to discuss this issue seriously, especially after Turkey sought to implement Law 5275 on precautionary and criminal measures that are applied to prisoners."

Al-Ibrahim sent a message to the people of NE Syria, calling on the people to intensify sit-ins and demonstrations, and to hold meetings to demand the freedom of the leader, Abdullah Ocalan.

Al-Ibrahim called on human rights organizations, humanitarian organizations, and the Committee Against Torture (CPT) to put pressure on Turkey and oblige it to implement the agreement signed between it and the human rights organization.

In turn, the co-chair of the Services Committee in the Western Region Council in Deir ez-Zor, Wahab Al-Bashar, said: "The Turkish occupation state, by extending the isolation of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, seeks to defeat his will, and this is impossible."

Al-Bashar criticized the inaction of the international forces and organizations concerned with human rights regarding the inhumane practices against the leader Abdullah Ocalan and his comrades in the prisons of the Turkish occupation state.

Al-Bashar stressed the need to raise the pace of struggle and resistance in order to break the isolation and achieve leader physical freedom, and work more broadly to shed light on what the detainees in Imrali and Turkish prisons face.

The administrator in the Education Committee of the Western Region Council, Amal Al-Hassan, explained: "We reject all penalities imposed by the Turkish occupation state against the leader, the Turkish occupation state must be held accountable for that."

Amal Al-Hassan called on all components of NE Syria to raise the pace of struggle and resistance in the face of the Turkish occupation until achievement leader's freedom.
