A member of the defense team for Mr. Abdullah Ocalan explained that the Turkish state is taking advantage of "disciplinary punishments", stressing that isolation is not a natural or normal matter, and the Committee against Torture must act.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been detained under conditions of strict isolation, since February 15, 1999, as a result of an international conspiracy whose first threads were planned on October 9, 1998.

In this regard, the lawyer and member of the defense team for Mr. Abdullah Ocalan, Roshin Haddo, spoke about the violations of the Turkish occupation state against the leader, and stated that the last time the leader APO met his lawyer was on August 7, 2019.

His last contact with the outside world was via a phone call with his brother Mohammad Ocalan on March 25, 2021, but the connection was cut off after only about five minutes, after which there was no news of him, and since then no information has been received from him.

Roshin Haddo referred to the popular activities against the violations and the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, explaining that these violations "pushed our patriotic people to start hunger strike campaigns, to demand information about the leader APO, as a number of them were martyred for this."

In a related context, Roshin Haddo considered "disciplinary sanctions" as just a term used by the Turkish state against leader Abdullah Ocalan, and said: "Everyone knows that the Turkish judiciary is not independent and serves the interests of the Turkish government, and on this basis, laws are enacted and imposed."

She considered these laws "illegal", and explained that "all over the world, ordinary detainees are allowed to meet their lawyers and families and communicate with the outside world, and they also have other rights, and Leader APO is a political prisoner, so he should enjoy more rights; but on the contrary, the Turkish occupation state imposed strict isolation on him and deprived him of his basic rights, which are in line with international laws, and prohibited his meeting with his lawyer and family.

Noting that international and human rights organizations remain silent about all of this, and stressed, "Therefore, his lawyers and family must be allowed to meet with him."

Roshin Haddo stated that the Committee against Torture (CPT) is visiting Turkey, but it does not reveal any information about the health status of leader Abdullah Ocalan, so this is considered "a violation of his rights and the entire Kurdish people."

It also indicated the desire of the Turkish state to further tighten the isolation of the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The lawyer and member of the defense team for Mr. Abdullah Ocalan, Roshin Haddo, confirmed that the Turkish state will not be able to put obstacles between the people and the leader, calling on all free peoples to struggle to ensure the achievement of his physical freedom, and also called on the European Committee against Torture to abide by its responsibilities and reveal his health condition.
