TEV DEM congratulates toilers on occasion  first of May

The Democratic Society Movement issued a written statement in conjunction with the first of May, the International Labor’s Day, and hoped that the occasion would be a means to escalate the struggle and resistance.

The statement reads:

 "On the occasion of the 137th anniversary of the first of May, we congratulate the great toiler, leader Abdullah Ocalan, who revived the spirit and legacy of true values ​​for all the toilers of the region and the world. We also congratulate all the toilers and workers of NE Syria and all resistant  peoples and who  struggle against injustice and exploitation.

The toilers and workers are considered one of the largest struggling and sacrificing segments of society in the world, as it was subjected to suffering, injustice, denunciation and oppression by the capitalist regimes and the dominant countries seek to immoral, profitable political and economic benefits that claimed many lives exceeding hundreds of thousands of this segment without distinction between gender and race, until this segment for free will to achieve its mighty victory by organizing its ranks and gathering its intellectual and personal forces to search for equality and social justice and to organize itself through demonstrations and labor protests which were  as a revolution against  capitalist exploiters  demanding their  rights and justice with the aim of achieving free will and improving their living conditions, which have passed over its path 137 years, that they made more great sacrifices until it became a reality and imposed itself by the strength of its organizational will, and their rights were recognized by internationally and nationally  within the international treaties and laws and signed by most countries in the world with the aim of protecting them legally, and morally.

Unfortunately  this toiling and working segment cant revive the ceremonies for the celebration of the inheritance and values ​​of the first of May. Rather, it is subjected to obstacles that reach to clashes and confrontations in most of the countries that have ratified the treaty, and the scene is repeated every year, as a result of the difficult circumstances that the global capitalist system is going through, which has become a scourge to humanity, which is completely incapable of finding even one of the loopholes of a democratic and peaceful solution, and greatly affected the global general situation as a result of the conflicts and crises that the entire international community is exposed to between the policies of authoritarian regimes and terrorist gangs.

Many countries claim to support the rights of workers and toilers, including the countries of the region, on the top, the Turkish occupation state, which practices the most horrific and dirty policies against the will of workers and toilers, takes their lives in prisons through the policy of arbitrary arrests, imposes unemployment, and illiteracy on the entire Turkish society, and imposes a policy of denial and genocide on the peoples of the region through  special war policies.

The revolution of the will of the resistance peoples in NE Syria and in the whole region in which the toiling and working segment played a prominent and important role with all segments of society and became complementary to the struggle and role of the toilers and gave a spirit full of will, effort and struggle despite all the tragedies, and wrote the most wonderful moral heroic epics based on human standards, through the active participation of the role of hardworking and struggling women in most arenas and fields, which have become leading the legacy, values and meanings of the first of May, adhering to the spirit and values of the societal revolution in building a free democratic society.

We in the Democratic Society Movement TEV-DEM extend our congratulations and appreciation for the struggle of the workers and toilers of NE Syria and for every Syrian worker. We are all hopeful that the struggle and resistance are the real guarantee for defeating terrorism and liberating all the occupied areas from the Turkish occupation."
