​​​​​​​Serêkaniyê residents protest against Turkish occupation of digging trenches in their agricultural lands

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that a number of residents of the villages of Rawya and al-Aziza in the occupied countryside of Serêkaniyê, northwest of al-Hasakah, went out in a demonstration; condemning the Turkish occupation army's digging of trenches in agricultural lands 300 meters away from the Turkish border, owned by the residents of the two villages, which are occupied by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

The demonstrators, who were protesting for the second day in a row, considered the digging of trenches a project to divide the lands, impose their control and seize large areas in favor of the Turkish occupation, and as a result, the demonstrators attacked Turkish vehicles and threw stones at them, to prevent the completion of the digging process.

"While the Turkish forces called for military support to disperse the demonstration," according to the SOHR.

On January 21, the mercenaries of "Sultan Murad" affiliated with the mercenaries of the "National Army" seized the school of the village of al-Safah, south of Serêkaniyê, and turned it into a military base, after they refused to hand over the school to the people of the town to complete their children's education there.

This comes in light of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continuing crimes that are contrary to the standards and values of human rights in the occupied areas of Syria.
