​​​​​​​Arab experts: Targeting Sulaymaniyah Airport is full- fledged crime

On Friday evening, Sulaymaniyah International Airport was bombed by the Turkish occupation, and no casualties or injuries were reported, except for a fire that was later extinguished.

A full-fledged crime

Egyptian writer and historian Ali Abu al-Khair confirmed to ANHA’s agency that the air attack carried out by the Turkish aircraft against Sulaymaniyah Airport in Iraq is contrary to international, moral and humanitarian law because it is an attack on a sovereign state.

He told ANHA’s agency: "The tragedy is complete when we know that the Turkish attack at Sulaymaniyah airport was a full-fledged assassination operation against the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, but the operation failed for reasons beyond Turkish intentions."

According to the Egyptian expert, the assassination attempt is largely linked to the Turkish internal situation and Erdogan's attempt to present himself as a strong man before the Turks ahead of the expected presidential elections next month.

Abu al-Khair believes that the repercussions of the failure of the operation will have a major impact on the political scene in Turkey and will somehow affect Erdogan's political future.

Arab silence

Regarding the Arab silence towards Turkish practices, the Egyptian historian stressed that the Arab silence is not new, as it is one of the reasons for the historical grievance of the Kurdish people, pointing out that all the monarchical and republican governments of Iraq alike granted the Turks areas of Iraqi land that they took as a vital field to strike the Kurds under flimsy pretexts.

Abu al-Khair also criticized the Arab League, stressing that it cannot condemn the Turkish side in its violations of the Arab countries or its attempts to assassinate Kurdish leaders, considering that the League in its current situation is too weak to confront Turkish or Israeli practices against the Arab countries. Rather, it can be said that the Arab League and some regimes do not They can free their will.

The Egyptian historian concluded his statements by saluting the long-standing Kurdish people, stressing that the Kurds are a people who do not know terrorism or the method of assassinations, which will make them victorious at the end of the battle, no matter how long it takes.

The real face of Turkey

For his part, human rights activist and head of the Egyptian Arab Organization for Human Rights, Osama Shams, considered that the attack launched by the Turkish occupation on Sulaymaniyah airport and the attempt to assassinate General Mazloum Abdi, commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, reflects the nature of the Turkish regime, which adopts terrorism as an approach and ideology.

He explained to ANHA’s agency that the attempt to assassinate the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, which brought down the terrorist state of ISIS, reveals the true face of the Turkish regime, which wants revenge for ISIS from the SDF by assassinating its leader.

Türkiye and Arab countries

The human rights activist pointed out that the Turkish practices and the continuous violations of the sovereignty of countries such as Syria and Iraq are considered an insult and mockery on the part of the Turkish regime in all Arab countries.

Shams denounced that the Arab countries open their doors for the return of diplomatic relations and that Turkish officials are received with embrace in Arab capitals, while the Turkish army is still violating the sovereignty of Iraq, occupying large areas of Syria and obstructing reaching a peaceful solution to the crisis in Libya.

The Egyptian activist asked: What is the return that Turkey paid for the Arab countries agreeing to restore relations with it, especially in light of the continuation of the same policies and violations that it practices in Syria and Iraq?

The head of the Egyptian Arab Organization for Human Rights concluded his statements by stressing that what happened in Sulaymaniyah was a terrorist crime with full-fledged elements in which the head of the Turkish regime was implicated in order to obtain the support of extremists and Turkish nationalists to remain in power, stressing at the same time that there is no good to be hoped for and no peace is expected from the regime. Murder and terrorism depend on a way to obtain electoral votes, and there is no hope for a people who give their votes to a regime that kills innocents and targets security personnel.
