​​​​​​​Two Yezidis uttering the “Two Declaration of Faith” under threat in occupied Afrin 

In another chapter of the Turkish occupation’s crimes against the people of occupied Afrin, especially the Yezidis, the occupation mercenaries forced two citizens of one family to convert to Islam and uttering the Two Declaration of Faith under threat, by one of the sheikhs of the so-called “Waqf” association in the Yazidi village of Qibar in the Shara district.

On the 31st of last March, a video clip was spread on virtual communication sites, of two citizens named (Sheikho Aref and Haider Aref) uttering the “Two Declaration of Faith”. According to the information obtained from the occupied area, the two citizens were forced to do so, as a result of the threat of death by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation.

Commenting on this, the spokeswoman for the Yezidi Women's Union in Rojava, Souad Hasso, confirmed, in an interview with ANHA’s agency, that the Aref family, whose members were forced by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries to convert to Islam, were subjected to various types of torture and violations shortly after the occupation of Afrin.

The family has been subjected to abuse and pressure

She noted that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries stole all the contents of the family's homes and seized their property in the village of Qibar, and they exerted pressure on it continuously.

In the midst of her speech, Souad confirmed that they had contact with the inside of Afrin, and that as a result of pressure and death threats by the mercenaries of the so-called "Military Police" and the so-called "Waqf" association, they are uttering the Two Declaration of Faith, and that the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation threatened them by saying (If you do not convert to Islam, your fate will be like that of the four young men in Janders district.

Souad Hesso pointed out that what the Turkish occupation state practices in occupied Afrin is no different from what ISIS mercenaries practiced in Şengal, and she said: "The names have changed and the face is the same."

At the end of her speech, the spokeswoman for the Yezidi Women's Union in Rojava, Souad Hasso, denounced the dubious international silence regarding the crimes of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against the Kurds and members of the Yezidi community in occupied Afrin.

Before uttering the Two Declaration of Faith, they were tortured

The former co-chair of the Yezidis Union in Afrin region, Mustafa Nabo, who is currently the spokesperson for the Office of Diplomatic Relations in Afrin and al-Shahba canton council, said: "The crimes of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against all components in Afrin have been continuing since the first day of its occupation in March 2018."

He referred to the Janders massacre, in which the Turkish occupation, through its mercenaries, tried to eliminate the Kurdish identity in the person of the four young men who did not fear the occupation and lit the Newroz flame despite all the pressures and crimes against them.

He explained that the two citizens were kidnapped a month after the occupation of Afrin canton by the mercenaries of "Ahrar al-Sham" and were subjected to various types of torture and violations.

Nabo went on to refer to the Islamization of the two citizens (Haider Aref and Sheikho Aref) under the threat of the Turkish occupation mercenaries, and forcing them to convert to Islam.

Mustafa Nabo shed light on other crimes and violations against the Yezidis, saying: "The Turkish occupation's crimes against the Yezidis continue since the occupation of Afrin, by changing the demographics of their villages by establishing settlements, building mosques there, and forcing their children to undergo Sharia courses to consolidate the ideology of extremism and terrorism in their minds."

Because he did not utter the two testimonies, he was killed

Nabo explained that they documented the destruction and bulldozing of 16 religious sites and shrines of the Yezidis in the occupied Afrin canton, by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

He confirmed that "the occupation mercenaries killed the citizen (Omar Shamo) from the village of Qibar as well, after their occupation of Afrin canton, because he did not utter the tow declaration of faith."

At the end of his speech, Mustafa Nabo called on the international forces and international human rights organizations to intervene immediately and fulfill their responsibilities in stopping the crimes of the Turkish occupation against the people of Afrin and the members of the Yezidi community.
