During demonstration in Aleppo.. people of Afrin: its liberation to be by people themselves

 On the fifth anniversary of the occupation of Afrin, thousands of residents of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, members of civil institutions and political parties took to the streets in a demonstration, amid the closure of all shops and popular markets.

 The demonstrators gathered in front of the meeting hall located in the western part of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, raising flags and pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the martyrs of the Resistance of the Age, and banners reading "In the spirit of the Resistance of the Age and Sheiladze, we condemn the Turkish state's attacks on Afrin and Xwakurk", "Yesterday Halabja and today Afrin."  "With the spirit of Gary and Sardam's resistance, we will ensure the liberation of Afrin," "No to extermination, no to occupation."

 The demonstration roamed the main streets of the neighborhood, amid chanting slogans saluting the resistance of Afrin, "Long live the resistance of Afrin", all the way to the cemetery square located in the eastern part of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo.

The demonstration began with a minute's silence;  In honor of the souls of the martyrs, Kamiran Zaza, the co-chair of civil society institutions in Aleppo, delivered a speech in which he referred to the resistance of Afrin and said, "We will continue our struggle until the liberation of Afrin and the expulsion of the Turkish occupier and its mercenaries from Afrin."

 He continued, "The Turkish occupier wanted to occupy Afrin and change its demographics to eliminate the Kurds, but the people's rally around the Afrin Liberation Forces will fail what the occupier dreams of."

 As for the administrator in the Council of Martyrs' Families, Roshan Muhammad, she said: "The fifth anniversary of the occupation of Afrin is passing by, and the memory still monitors the hooves that desecrated the soil of Afrin "Çiyayê Kurmênc" and spoiled its land, leaving destruction, killing, looting, while they raise the Turkish flag in every spot that reaches. The original daughters and sons of Afrin, the forcibly displaced, planted their footsteps in the mud, waving to Afrin to return, towards the areas of al-Shahba. This painting was the harshest in the Afrin tragedy.

 Roshan referred to the silence of the international forces in the face of the crimes of the occupier in Afrin and said, "The black fifth anniversary of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries loyal to it in the Afrin region, amid a terrible international silence regarding the various types of violations committed by the Turkish army and the mercenary factions against the remaining sons of Afrin during the five years of occupation."  

 And she continued: "During its war against the Kurds in Afrin, the Turkish occupation army committed the most heinous war crimes, bombing schools, hospitals, and civil and service institutions using its most powerful weapons and did not hesitate to use internationally prohibited weapons, which resulted in the death of dozens of civilians."

 Roshan referred to the rapprochement between the government of Damascus and Ankara, and said: "While we closely monitor the recent developments in the rapprochement of the government of Ankara and Damascus and attempts to dilute the Syrian issue and re-float the central tyrannical regime, we assure our Syrian people with all its components that what is happening will be at the expense of the Syrians." 

 Roshan affirmed that the freedom of the Syrians with all their components is linked to the dialogue of the Syrians themselves and the derivation of a Syrian solution that leads to a democratic decentralized Syria that preserves the privacy and freedom of all Syrian components and regions, and not submitting to the occupation agendas, foremost of which is the Turkish occupation.
