Yesterday, Bashar Al-Assad went to the Russian capital, Moscow, to meet with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

And the "Syrian Presidency" page, published the news of the arrival and indicated that an official reception ceremony took place at Vankova International Airport in Russia.

He was received, according to the published news, by "Mikhail Bogdanov, special representative of President Putin, Alexander Yefimov, Russia's ambassador to Damascus, and Bashar al-Jaafari, Syria's ambassador to Moscow."

The "Syrian Presidency" page confirmed that during the visit, Al-Assad is holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, accompanied by a large ministerial delegation.

The Russian newspaper "Vedomosti" confirmed, quoting an unnamed source in the Russian presidency, the "Kremlin" a few days ago, that Al-Assad will visit Russia in mid-March, which the Kremlin did not deny at the time.

Al-Assad's public visit to Russia is his second public visit outside the country, as he visited the Sultanate of Oman on February 20, where talks were held with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq in an official session at Al-Baraka Palace in Muscat, in the presence of the two delegations.

This public visit of al-Assad to his ally Putin coincides with the anniversary of the Syrian crisis, which is entering its thirteenth year, and it also comes in light of talk about Russian efforts to bring the Damascus government closer to the Turkish occupation state, as analysts believe that this visit is linked to the desire of the Russian side to push the Damascus government to take more effective steps to normalize relations with the Turkish occupation state.
