​​​​​​​PYD: Solution to Syrian crisis to only be at Syrians hands

On Wednesday (March 15), marks the 12th anniversary of the start of the Syrian crisis, which began on this day in 2011 with a popular movement that later turned into a crisis due to external interference and its attempt to exploit this movement in its favour.

PYD issued a written statement to the public opinion, in which it emphasized the need for a Syrian solution to the crisis.

PYD said at the outset of its statement: "Twelve years have passed since the crisis and conflict in Syria without the Syrian people taking any step towards a solution. Contrary to the aspirations of millions who went out in March 2011 demanding change and democratic transformation, this popular movement was an important step in ending the barrier of fear, and came as a result of the previous popular rejection represented in the March 12, 2004 uprising that started from Qamishlo to Kobani and Afrin and extended to Aleppo and Damascus.

It added: "During 12 years, the country has turned into a battlefield, sectarian liquidations, and regional and international conflicts where the opposition and the regime complicate the Syrian crisis, that is why the crisis in Syria has become placed within the framework of the struggle for power and monopolizing it or sharing it in proportion to the sponsoring powers of the so-called negotiation process, and the moves that are taking place in this context dilute the decisions and an attempt to reproduce the authoritarian nationalist tyranny regime that shares some of its advantages with some of the coalition structures that implement the agenda of the Turkish regime.

The Party stated that, in light of the destructive transformations that the Syrian arena is going through its most difficult and affecting stages on the future of Syria, and this is what calls on the Syrian national forces to move to catch up with the plans and projects which target Syrian aspirations for freedom and democracy."

PYD added  "While we consider the Syrian revolutionary movement in March 2011 a historical inevitability necessitated by its objective and subjective factors, and that the 19th of Dates 2012 revolution embodied the aspirations of the people of Syria for democratic change; we affirm once again our national duty and in accordance with our revolutionary principles to warn our Syrian people of these schemes and projects that target Syria.

PYD concluded by saying " To the people of Syria and the national forces inside and outside Syria the time has come for us to move towards building the foundations of national action that leads towards a real revolution to save the country from the chaos of destruction, and end the occupation, in addition to build a free and decentralized Syria, in accordance with International Resolution 2254, of which the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria is a model and an actual, realistic and practical translation of it.
