​​​​​​​Activities on anniversary of March 12 massacre, uprising start by visiting martyrs' shrines

Hundreds of children of the Kurdish and Arab components gathered in the cemetery of the Qudourbek neighborhood in Qamishlo to remember the martyrs of the March 12 massacre and uprising.

After a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, the member of the Democratic Union Party in the city of Qamishlo, Hasna Remo, delivered a speech in which she remembered the martyrs of the uprising and all the martyrs of the freedom movement.

She added: "The Syrian regime tried to create great strife against the Kurdish people, but its plan failed thanks to the unity, solidarity and spirit of the uprising.

On the shrines of the martyrs of the uprising today, all components gather under the umbrella of the brotherhood of peoples." And the democratic nation put forward by the leader Abdullah Ocalan to spread unity and peace among peoples.

At the end of her speech, Hasna Remo promised the martyrs of the Qamishlo massacre and uprising, and all the martyrs to follow in their footsteps until the liberation of the peoples.

Shrine of martyr Dalil Sarukhan

Dozens of families went to the shrine of the martyr Dalil Sarukhan in the east of the city, where the member of the Democratic Union Party, Sharif Haji Mahmoud, delivered a speech in which he emphasized that the uprising became the basis for the July 19 revolution.

He said, "What happened in Qamishlo and against the Kurdish people was repeated in Bakur by the Turkish state against Amed Sport Club with the same goals of creating discord among peoples."

He concluded: "The July 19 revolution proved that Syria will remain for all components, and we will remain as the people of NE Syria, striving to stave off strife and build a decentralized, democratic Syria."

March 12 stadium

The gathered crowds headed to the March 12 Martyrs' Stadium, where they committed a massacre, which turned into an uprising that spread across all regions of Rojava and reached Aleppo, Damascus and Raqqa.

On the square of the March 12 Martyrs' Stadium, the activities of the commemoration ceremony for the 19th anniversary of the Qamishlo massacre and uprising, organized by the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Jazira region, were launched under the slogan "With the spirit of the March 12 uprising, we will defeat the occupation and win by the will of the people," after the arrival of crowds from different cities and districts of Jazira region to the stadium, and the crowds that visited the shrines of the martyrs of the uprising in Qudourbek neighborhood and the shrine of the martyr Dalil Sarukhan.

The ceremony is attended by the components of the Jazira and Deir Al-Zor regions, including Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs and Armenians, representatives of political, civil, women's, religious and youth institutions, representatives of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Jazira region, tribal sheikhs and dignitaries, and elected representatives of the Jazira and Deir Al-Zor regions.

The ceremony began with a musical performance by the Sardam Band, which included the Kurdish anthem "Ay Raqib", followed by speeches delivered on behalf of (the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Jazira region, the Council of Martyrs' Families in the city of Qamishlo, and the Kongra Star.

Deir Al-Zor and Al-Jazira teams are also scheduled to play a friendly match on the field.
