​​​​​​​American researcher visits Ain Issa district

 Upon her arrival at the building of the Girê Spi Canton Council, which is based in Ain Issa district, the researcher Miguel Bodt from the Kurdish Peace Institute was received by Hamid al-Abed and Fadila Muhammad, the co-chair of the Canton Council, Hamid al-Abed, the deputy co-chair, Hazza Muhammad, and the commander of the Tal Abyad Military Council, Riyad al-Khalaf.

 During the meeting that took place with the researcher, they discussed the vacuum left by the withdrawal of the coalition forces led by the United States of America from the region in the summer of 2019 and what resulted from it, especially Turkey's occupation of large parts of the regions of Serekaniye / Ras al-Ain and Girê Spî / Tal Abyad, which caused tragedies for the peoples of the region, including killing and displacement and looting of civilians. Since then, it has continued to bomb the areas of the contact lines to create panic among civilians and push them to emigrate.

 They indicated that Turkey brought with it terrorists from the remnants of ISIS mercenaries after its occupation of Girê Spî canton, which foreshadows the return of terrorism again from those areas, as its actions show that it is trying to breed it again by spreading extremist Islam in the occupied areas with the help of extremist Chechen and Pakistani associations.

 The meeting also noted that the agreements concluded with the Russian side to ensure the monitoring of the ceasefire remained a dead letter in light of the daily violations and practices of the Turkish occupation’s bombing of the district and its countryside, which resulted in the death and injury of hundreds of residents, in addition to hitting the infrastructure and sources of income of citizens in the district.

 On the sidelines of her visits to the district council, researcher Miguel Bodt said during an interview with ANA that her aim of the visit is to work on preparing a report on the effects of US policy on the regions of north and east Syria in light of the presence of Russian forces and Turkish threats to the region, in addition to documenting Turkish violations on the border areas.  In Ain Issa, Kobani, and Manbij, and to see the conditions of the people who were affected by these attacks, in addition to the vital facilities that were destroyed.

  The researcher is scheduled to hold meetings with the people of the region, and visit some villages of the sub-district, which were bombed and destroyed as a result of the daily bombing by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, followed by a visit to Kobani and Manbij in the same context.
