​​​​​​​Tal Rifaat district council condemns Turkish attacks, silence of international forces

 Today, the Tal Rifaat District Council issued a statement condemning the targeting of the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries to the district yesterday, Tal Rifaat. The statement was read by the co-chair of the Tal Rifaat District Council, Muhammad Hanan.

 The text of the statement read:

 "At a time when the earthquake was a real catastrophe for tens of thousands of Syrian families, and at the same time, it represented a resounding fall of human and moral values, by preventing the passage of rescue teams and relief aid to the afflicted, or imposing large royalties in return for allowing their passage, and what happened in Afrin during the earthquake is not new, it is a continuation of the same aggressive behavior under which Afrin was occupied and an attempt to impose a new demographic reality.

 What is practiced now represents a continuation of that moral decline, as the homes of the afflicted were stolen, neglected to rescue them, medical and relief materials were stolen, and racism was practiced in their distribution. This is what happened in the stricken town of Jindirse.

 Despite the suffering caused by the difficult living conditions due to the displacement, as well as what happened due to the devastating earthquake and the forced thousands of families to leave the neighboring city of Aleppo towards the al-Shahba areas after they became homeless after the earthquake, the Turkish occupation state’s continued terrorism in targeting the Kurds even after they were forced to  the displacement from Afrin did not stop even for a minute, as campaigns of threatening to launch a large-scale aggression against the areas of displacement continue, as well as artillery shelling and targeting by air or through drones against the villages and towns populated with the civilian population in al-Shahba areas in order to intimidate them and push them to leave into the unknown.

  What happened yesterday in the targeting of the city center of Tal Rifaat by bombing and the loss of a displaced’s life in Tal Rifaat to escape the earthquake and the injury of another civilian person, is in reality nothing but normal behavior of the Turkish fascist state of terrorism, although disasters are supposed to push major calamities to countries  Governments and the conflicting parties have sought to forget and overcome political differences and move more towards effective political solutions, but what we have seen are acts of terrorism, genocide and killing.

 It must be the silence of the international legitimate institutions such as the United Nations and the UN Security Council, as well as the active international powers' condoning of the Turkish fascist state's terrorism, that pushes it to practice racism and commit more violations.

 Therefore, with our stand, we, on behalf of civilians from all the components present in the town of Tal Rifaat, strongly condemn the criminal actions of the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries, and we also call on international institutions, especially humanitarian and human rights ones, as well as countries with influence, to take appropriate steps and positions to deter the Turkish occupier from  continue his crimes.
