A report issued by the General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods revealed the scale of the tragedy in the two neighborhoods, as it talked about the internal displacement of 60,000 people in addition to another 3,000,000 families towards Shahba Canton.

The General Council of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods issued a detailed report with numbers and statistics, on the results of the earthquake in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, about a week after the disaster occurred.

The two neighborhoods is witnessing an unfair siege imposed by the "Fourth Division" affiliated with the Damascus government, during which the necessary materials, including fuel and others, are prevented from entering, despite the catastrophe resulting from the earthquake.

The report touched on the statistics documented by the General Council, confirming that 6 people lost their lives in the two neighborhoods, in addition about 100 severe and moderate injuries and cases of nervous breakdown.

The report noted that the earthquake resulted in internal displacement over the damage to homes due to the region's exposure to strong and long conflicts.

150 buildings threatened with collapse

As for building statistics, the report emphasized that about 150 buildings and houses were subjected to total and partial collapse (mostly partial), which caused the internal displacement of about 50,000 civilians from buildings to ground houses (Arab houses), in addition to 10,000 others who were directed to tents. and temporary shelters.

The number of displaced people heading to Shahba Canton, the report confirmed that about 3,000 families from the two neighborhoods headed to Shahba Canton, indicating that the number is increasing over the frequent collapses in buildings because of earthquake jolts.

The report included the necessary needs that must be secured to meet the needs of the people, namely:

50,000 food baskets, 25,000 sanitary baskets, blankets and blankets sufficient for 50,000 people, in addition to the supplies of the civil defense teams, which consist of 30 individuals who lack mechanisms.

The report also included a lengthy paragraph on the needs of the two neighborhoods in terms of medicines of all kinds, especially medicines for blood pressure and diabetes, serums of both types, diabetes and saline, antibiotics, medical equipment needed to treat fractures.
