At dawn on Monday, February 6, An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck northern Kurdistan, Turkey, and northern and central Syria. It also affected the regions of northern and eastern Lebanon, where its aftershocks spread throughout the eastern Mediterranean region, leaving so far thousands of victims and great destruction.

Shahba district which is under suffocating siege by Damascus government was also affected by the earthquake, but it received more than 1,200 families from impacted Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo.
