​​​​​​​Kurdistan Renewal Movement head calls on all political and civil forces to move against isolation

No information has been received about the leader Abdullah Ocalan for more than 22 months, which raises the concern of the popular, political and cultural circles in Kurdistan and abroad.

The visit by the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture increased concern after it refused to disclose the situation in Imrali after a visit it made to Turkey between September 20 and 29, despite many demands that were made to the committee that it should share its report on the visit with public opinion.

The head of the Kurdistan Renewal Movement, Dr. Rizkar Qassem, said, in a statement to ANHA’s agency, that these arbitrary, immoral and illegal measures pursued by the authority of the Justice and Development Party led by Erdogan, "are a systematic policy against the Kurdish people and all the fighters in the personality of leader Ocalan. This arbitrariness tells us the mentality of the Ataturkism that It relied on quelling the Kurdish revolutions, which were taking place in Bakur Kurdistan by killing and executing its fighters... (the martyr, Sheikh Saeed, and the martyr, Syed Rida).Thus the current AKP government tried to implement this mentality by imposing isolation more than once on leader Ocalan, and not allowing his lawyer to meet with him, and preventing his relatives as well, believing that it will succeed in undermining the steadfastness and resistance of the Kurdish people.

The Justice and Development Authority does not respect the Turkish constitution or international laws

Qassem referred to the grave legal violations committed by the Turkish occupation state against its constitution and laws, and said, "We are close to two years, and this authority has not allowed any meeting with Ocalan. All these measures confirm to the Turkish people and the international community that this authority does not respect the Turkish constitution or international laws." As you know that there are international human rights charters and laws, which emphasized the right of the prisoner to meet with his lawyer on a weekly basis, and despite that, we see that the AKP authority is insisting on antagonizing the Kurdish people by tightening the isolation of the leader Ocalan.

Qassem warned that the Turkish fascist state's insistence on implementing the policy of isolation "will lead to more rift and division and increase tension in the Turkish street itself!

The international silence is a continuation of the international conspiracy against Ocalan and the peoples of the region

Qassem touched on the double standards followed by international humanitarian, human rights and legal organizations and their silence regarding the isolation imposed on leader Ocalan, describing it as lacking human values, explaining: "Unfortunately, in all stages of the struggle and revolution, we find that some of these organizations that claim humanity are distant and lack human values. This silence the direction of this isolation is to move away from humanity, since for nearly two years, no one knows anything about the health of the leader Ocalan, neither his lawyers nor his family, as if we are talking about gangs holding captives and not about a country that has a constitution and laws; it is a member of the international community, and therefore it considered that this silence is part of the continuity of the international conspiracy against Ocalan and the peoples of the region, and that they are accomplices to the Turkish government in its crime against humanity, so I believe that the European Committee against Torture and other organizations should carry out their duties, foundations and values upon which they were founded, and take immediate action against these arbitrary measures that they follow. The Justice and Development Government, in violation of international human rights laws and covenants.

It is our duty to stand with the Kurdish peoples to break the isolation

Qassem stressed that the Kurdish peoples are loyal to their fighters, and stated: "We always find these peoples filling the squares, glorifying their fighters and continuing their campaigns, activities and discussions of the issue of isolation imposed on leader Ocalan, and there are open hunger strike campaigns and continuous meetings with members of the European Parliament, and it is our duty to We stand with them and highlight the issue of isolation and strike campaigns, and put pressure on public opinion of countries and governments and the European Commission to move its organizations affiliated with those countries and carry out their moral and legal duties.

Qassem stressed that "what is now required of all parties, movements, currents, associations, political and civil forces, and even individuals, is to intensify their efforts to demand the end of isolation from the leader Ocalan, and he said: "We have reached 24 years and the leader Ocalan is in prison alone, and we demand his freedom, as he is a man of peace the freedom of leader Ocalan; It is the freedom of peoples who is eager to freedom. Ocalan, in his ideology, does not only demand the right of the Kurds, but also presents a project. For all oppressed peoples, and silence on this issue means moving away from human and moral values.”
