People of Euphrates region celebrate 8th anniversary of Kobane victory, 9th of declaration of AA
The people of the Euphrates region commemorated the eighth anniversary of Kobani's victory over ISIS mercenaries, and the ninth anniversary of the declaration of the Autonomous Administration of Kobani canton.
He attended the ceremony, which was held in the Euphrates Hall in the city of Kobani, in which pictures of the heroes of the Kobani resistance, pictures of the leader Ocalan, and personalities from all over north and east Syria were hung.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence; In honor of the souls of the martyrs, then the co-chair of the Executive Council in the Euphrates region, Muhammad Shaheen, delivered a speech, in which he said: "The victory of Kobani is the harvest of solidarity between the components in the region. The self-will was born to be a bridge between these components that were deprived of their most basic rights before the 1990s July revolution."
He added, "The resistance continues in the face of all those who try to destroy our democratic project, eliminate the gains of the July 19 revolution, and defeat ISIS mercenaries whom the Turkish occupation state tries to revive again," stressing the need to escalate the struggle.
The co-chair of the Council of Martyrs' Families in the Euphrates region, Aisha Effendi renewed the covenant to defend the region, and stressed that "this day has a special impact, in which the blood of the components of northern and eastern Syria was mixed. People said no to everyone who tries to attack us, and today we are victorious and must move forward on the path that the martyrs drew with their blood."
Then, a member of the Executive Council in North and East Syria, Mahsum Al-Ali, congratulated during his speech the victory of the sons of Kobani over ISIS mercenaries, and considered it a victory for all oppressed peoples.
He continued, "We all remember how the Syrian and Iraqi army fled from these mercenaries, leaving behind the weapons with which the mercenaries attacked the city of Kobani and tried to exterminate its people, and that was their end."
As for Zozan Bakr, a member of the Kongra Star Coordination Department, she said: "It was a great day. Today, every component exercises its life freely, every component speaks its own language after ages of darkness in which the people were deprived of their most basic rights."
"Today, the Turkish occupation state is trying to occupy our regions, but we say to it that you will be defeated as your mercenaries were defeated," she noted.
After that, the members of the Golden Crescent movement in the Euphrates region and the Botan Band presented singing paragraphs.
The ceremony ended with the attendees chanting the slogan "Resistance is life".
