Afrin's IDPs people prove that their resistance is stronger than policies targeting their existence

 January 20th, the fifth anniversary;  The Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries launched their occupation attack on Afrin canton, in which the occupation used modern weapons and toxic chemical gases.

 However, the people of Afrin showed historical resistance for 58 days in the face of the second most powerful army in NATO (the Turkish army).

 In this context, a member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party, Asaad Manan, said: "After their forcible displacement, the people of Afrin took al-Shahba canton as a point to start the second phase of the Resistance of the Age, within the five camps and semi-destroyed houses, but the cannons of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in the occupied areas in the north and east of the canton never stopped bombing the people directly.

 And he continued: "This barbarism is a continuation of the aggression against Afrin canton. With its occupation, the Turkish occupier started many plans, including demographic change, destroying the canton's environment, and weakening the resistance shown by the people of Afrin in al-Shahba, through many policies, including the private war, and the continuous barbaric bombing that led to the commission of  Many massacres claimed the lives of dozens of children, the elderly and women.

On another aspect of importance, Manan pointed out that the siege imposed by the Damascus government on the displaced from Afrin in al-Shahba canton, is an uninterrupted part of today's bombing of the Turkish occupation and its occupation of their homeland.

 He said, " 5 years on since we were forcibly displaced from our homes, as a result of the Turkish occupation of Afrin, the Syrian government's checkpoints impose a suffocating siege on the canton, and if it enters, it will be by paying huge amounts of money to the government's checkpoints on the road linking the city of Aleppo and al-Shahba canton."  The siege is a joint plan with the Turkish occupation against the displaced from Afrin and their resistance.

 He added that the policies practiced by both sides serve one goal.  It is weakening the resistance and distancing the people of Afrin from their cause of liberating Afrin, implementing the plans of the Turkish occupation, and restoring the dreams of the Ottomans, through various means, and with internationally prohibited and advanced weapons, and siege policies, they confront the resisting people of Afrin.

 We stick to the resistance despite all the attacks and circumstances

 Manan pointed out that "the past five years have proven that the will of the people of resistance, and specifically the people of Afrin, is the strongest of all circumstances. The policies against them during these years were alone enough to drive the people from their land, but the people remained on their decision, adhering to their goal, which is to liberate Afrin and return to it."

He continued: "The absence of humanitarian organizations and human rights bodies has proven to the people of Afrin that there is no option for liberating it but to adhere to the resistance, and this is what we see today in the camps, facing the cold of winter without heating, and in semi-destroyed homes facing the almost daily bombing of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the canton,  They stick to the resistance."

 At the end of his speech, Manan stressed that they, like the people of Afrin, young and old, are organizing themselves on the basis of the people's revolutionary war.  To repel the plans of the Turkish occupation and the Damascus government, "in the spirit of the people's revolutionary war, we confront all plans aimed at breaking our will and weakening our resistance."
