​​​​​​​Preparations continue to hold a conference of democratic forces and personalities

Member of the Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), Ali Rahmon, revealed, in a special statement to ANHA’s agency, that the 4th consultative meeting will be held in Stockholm on the 4th and 5th of next February in the context of preparation for the conference of democratic forces and personalities.

According to Rahmon, the meeting will discuss the details of holding the conference, stressing that a large number of important documents have been completed in partnership with other forces and personalities, whose number has reached more than 500 personalities and political forces.

And he indicated that there was nothing left but the issue of determining the appropriate time for everyone to hold the conference, while he said that it is expected to be held before next summer.

According to Ali Rahmon, the conference project achieved success both internally and externally, and he said: "This project was adopted by the Swedish Foreign Ministry and the Swedish (Olf Palma) Center for Peace and Democracy, and we held 3 consultative meetings in Stockholm, in addition to forums and seminars in Inside, and the other meeting will be held next February.

Obstacles

Regarding the convening of the conference, Rahmon said, "There are no real obstacles in the way of convening this conference, but there were circumstances that prevented the expediting of holding it, and we do not deny that there were circumstances and subjective factors related to some others, due to the dispersal of the Syrian opposition, given that they had never They have dialogue with each other responsibly, to reach these consensuses.

He referred to the circumstances that prevented the convening of the conference, to the political conditions the country witnessed represented in the marginalization of the Syrian file by the international powers, and to the repercussions the world witnessed of the COVID19 pandemic that prevented the Syrians from meeting among themselves, and also to the reluctance of some countries to hold this conference, especially those It has no interest in creating a democratic Syrian political force.

As for the subjective circumstances and factors, Rahmon explained that they have been and are being dealt with and overcome, through continuous communication, and that objective obstacles have become forgotten.

A matter of time

Noting that "international support has become much better than before, and international care and concern for this aspect has become better, and Sweden is adopting this project on its land and sponsoring it with the presence of the most important countries concerned with the Syrian file (America, Britain, France)," stressing that holding the conference has become a matter of time, nothing more.
