​​​​​​​Member of the Defense Council for Mr. Ocalan: Opening door of imrali is solution to all outstanding issues

 The isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan has increased for 23 years, and in this context, since March 25, 2021, the leader has not been allowed to meet with his lawyer and his family.  under the pretext of disciplinary penalties against him.

 'Disciplinary penalties are illegal'

 In this regard, a member of the defense team on behalf of Mr. Abdullah Ocalan, lawyer Mahmoud Khalo, spoke to our agency, and said: "The isolation and disciplinary penalties imposed on the leader Ocalan are political and have nothing to do with laws or rights. Their main goal is to sever the connection between the leader and the peoples of the region, because breaking  Isolation will lead to a solution to most of the issues and problems of the region. This is confirmed by the meetings during the peace phase, where the leader presented, through his theses and assessments, the solution to bring peace not only in Turkey, but also had an impact on regional and global politics, meaning that opening the door of Imrali is a solution to all outstanding problems and issues.  ".

 He added, "Every detainee has the right to meet with family and lawyers every week under any circumstances, but the Turkish occupation state prevents the leader from these meetings in flagrant violation of human rights and laws pertaining to prisoners and detainees."

Stepping up the struggle to break the isolation

 Regarding the position of human rights organizations and (CPT), Khalo added: "Despite the existence of hundreds of reports confirming the existence of a torture regime in Imrali, this is insufficient and useless it is accompanied by actions. Therefore, human rights organizations, especially the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, should (  CPT) performing its role in monitoring the situation and putting pressure on the Turkish occupation state in international and European forums to break this isolation because the leader Ocalan is an international figure.

 Khalo stated, "The one behind this isolation and the policy of torture that Imrali is administering is the capitalist world system."

 At the end of his speech, he stressed, "We will continue to work, escalate the struggle, and make our voice heard to all institutions and organizations concerned with human rights and detainees, to put an end to this crime and break isolation."
