Medical points and hospitals in al-Shahba canton lack medicines and means of heating, which prompted Doctor Muhammad Adl to take advantage of the sun's rays, which provide some warmth, and to find alternatives. The doctor, was born in Shiye district in 1966, specializing in forensic medicine in 2004. He opened a clinic in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in the city of Aleppo.

The doctor had to flee to his hometown; Because of the ongoing conflict in Syria, to open a medical clinic and work at the medical point of the Afrin Health Council. He had a major role in resisting the age by treating the injured during the brutal aggression by the Turkish occupation on occupied Afrin.

Since the displacement of the people of Afrin to al-Shahba canton, the doctor has been treating IDPs in Sardam camp in the village of Tal Sawsan.

Adl said, in an interview with our agency, that "he is forced to treat patients in front of the medical point, due to the lack of heating means, and to benefit from the sun's rays that give them some warmth."

He pointed out, "The extreme cold inside the examination rooms negatively affects the health of patients, in light of the complete lack of medicines at the Kurdish Red Crescent medical point for nearly 6 months."

Adil noted, "The majority of patients are children and the elderly, due to their weak immune systems, especially those residing in camps that do not protect from the cold of winter and the heat of summer, and lack the most basic necessities of life," adding, "The most common diseases are bronchitis, diarrhea, crippling, and influenza."

He stated that patients cannot buy medicines after they have been examined. Because of the outrageous high prices of medicines, and their unavailability in most pharmacies and medical points.

He added, "Their will is stronger than the circumstances that require them to inspect and examine patients in front of the medical point, to benefit from the sun's rays."

He stressed that "he continues to carry out his humanitarian and moral duty towards the displaced from Afrin in the areas of al-Shahba."

The medical point of the Kurdish Red Crescent in Sardam camp is visited by about 60 displaced citizens of Afrin daily.

It is mentioned that the doctor, Muhammad Adl, has a medical clinic in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, but he made a promise to himself to stay with the people of Afrin in the camps until the liberation of Afrin.
