​​​​​​​ Mother of Wissam, who died of a cold:  tragedy not  to be repeated

 Arefa Ibrahim, the mother of the dead child, Wissam, spoke about her child's condition before death, and said while sitting in the living room, devoid of any means of heating and high in humidity, "he did not suffer from any chronic diseases at home, except that recently, shortly before my son's death, the whole family fell ill because of the cold".

 She indicated that her son had a sudden febrile seizure, and as a result, he was taken to Martyr Khaled Fajr Hospital, the only medical point in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods. The hospital staff indicated that the child's temperature had exceeded 40 degrees, which caused many complications.

 After Wisam stayed for some time in the hospital and was given oxygen, the complications caused by the high fever eventually led to a general convulsion that caused his heart to stop.

 The bereaved mother explained that they wanted to admit their child to the intensive care unit in government hospitals in the areas of the Damascus government, but they were unable to secure a place. She also said that in the end they decided to place the child in a private hospital, but it was too late.

The grieving mother wished for her son, who died as a result of the siege, that her tragedy would not be repeated with the rest of the other families.
