​​​​​​​Noon's initiative strongly rejects CPT's position

This came during a written statement of the Noon Initiative on Friday, and we received a copy of it.

At the beginning of its statement, the initiative denounced the "unfair isolation imposed by the Turkish authorities on the leader Abdullah Ocalan," and also strongly condemned "the systematic, repeated, and deliberate Turkish attempts to hide all information regarding the health of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and the flagrant violation of human rights laws which is absolutely inconsistent with his being a political prisoner  according to international law .

The initiative expressed its rejection of "the position of the European Committee against Torture on meeting the leader Abdullah Ocalan. Which lacks objectivity and conveys a false picture that is not consistent with what is happening on the ground,

The Noon Initiative called on the committee "to assume its responsibilities and adhere to impartiality, objectivity and transparency in dealing with the leader's case, and to reveal the forms of persecution and inhuman treatment in his prison, and to shed light on the crimes of the Turkish authorities against him."

It also called on the "international and humanitarian community and all peace-loving peoples and advocates for just causes and international organizations supporting human rights to prevent Turkish authorities from violating international human rights laws and setting the leader free.
