Turkish occupation authorities arrest Vengani, call investigation into crimes.

Turkish police have arrested the head of the Central Council of the Turkish Medical Association (TTB), Şebnem Korur Vengani, who said that the chemical weapons attacks by the Turkish occupation state should be investigated.

The Turkish Human Rights Foundation (TIHV) issued a statement on Twitter and said: “The president of the Turkish Doctors (TTB) and a member of our administrative body, doctor Şebnim Korur Vengani, was arrested in an unacceptable way. So she must be released immediately.”

In turn, the Turkish Medical Syndicate said Wednesday that the Turkish occupation police had arrested Vengani as a result of her talk about the Turkish occupation army’s use of chemical weapons against the Kurds.

The union described her arrest as a “political execution outside the framework of the law”. They said that this was the highest stage of the authorities’ pressure on the union and its leaders, and demanded her immediate release.

Vengani has spent much of her career documenting torture and ill-treatment, and is a leading human rights activist in Turkey.

In September and October, the Turkish occupation state committed a massacre with chemical weapons against the Kurds. As a result, 17 fighters of the Guerilla forces were martyred in the legitimate defense areas.

The People’s Defense Forces (HPG) has documented more than once the crimes of the Turkish occupation army in the mountains of Kurdistan, and its use of chemical weapons, missiles and tactical nuclear weapons against war tunnels in legitimate defense areas.
