​​​​​​​KNK calls on United Nations and international organizations not to ignore Turkish war crimes

The leadership Body of Kurdistan National Congress issued a written statement on the use of chemical weapons by the Turkish occupation state. That reads:

"Turkish army has been using chemical weapons in its ongoing war against the fighters of Kurdistan liberation movement for years, but over the past 2 years, specifically since February 2021, it has been using them continuously. And has escalate it even more over the past 6 months, and according to information issued by the information center of people's Defense Forces, banned chemical weapons were used 367 times during 2021, and 2470 times during the last six months. These attacks resulted in the martyrdom of hundreds of fighters of Kurdistan liberation movement.

Scenes of the use of chemical weapons and evidence of such use have been published many times, and yesterday such scenes were also published and 17 fighters were killed by chemical weapons. The Kurdish people, Kurdish organizations and many Kurdish friends are raising their voices against the use of these weapons, but unfortunately with the exception of some human rights organizations, everyone ignores this situation and remains silent. In particular, the United Nations, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the Council of Europe and the countries concerned are silent and do not want to see this situation, which prevents the Turkish state from daring to increase its attacks.

Turkish authorities in Kurdistan are committing war crimes against humanity, also Erdogan, members of his government, Turkish army commanders and officials of the Turkish intelligence services have all committed crimes against humanity.

What is happening in Kurdistan is not normal, as the Turkish army today is launching its brutal attacks on Kurdistan in front of the eyes of the world, committing war crimes against humanity in violation of all legal standards, and in this context, the Kurdish people and their friends must fight against this everywhere.

We in the Kurdistan National Congress, we will follow this situation in all aspects and we will stand against the brutality of the Turkish state with all our might.

We call on all the Kurdish people and tell them that this day is the day of resistance and standing with the fighters of the Kurdistan liberation movement; let everyone go out to the squares and stand against this brutality in the spirit of Kobani resistance. We also call on all friends of the Kurds and the humanitarian world to stand by the Kurdish people in this exceptional situation.

At the same time, we call on United Nations, the OPCW, Europe Council and the concerned countries not to turn a blind eye to this situation and not to remain silent about it, as silence and not taking a position on it are considered partnership in these crimes; Do not become partners in it."
