​​​​​​​TEV-DEM denounces the fire of Evin prison in Tehran and considers it revenge against the will of the Peoples

On Monday, democratic society movement issued a written statement to the public opinion, and we received a copy in which it condemned the fire in Evin prison.

The movement said at the beginning of its statement: "with the escalation of the wave of protests and sit-in that happened in Rojhilat Kurdistan and Iran, it turned into a modern democratic, ethical, women-led revolution, under the slogan (Women, life, freedom - Jin, jiyan, azdaî)."

She pointed out that this gave "morale to all Iranian components by joining this historic revolution, which chose its path to victory against the injustice and tyranny of the Iranian mullahs' racist regime, which has become unable to stop this revolutionary struggle with the vanguard of women, who become a symbol of free will and the extent of its humanitarian impact on the region and the world, especially feminist and youth movements and organizations".

TEV-DEM added: "Despite all the attempts and methods of repression, the use of live bullets and the deployment of the security forces of the mullahs' regime in the streets of cities to impose its hegemony again against the people of rojhilat of Kurdistan and Iran, it failed and was defeated because it chose the path of systematic violence and committed more crimes targeting women and children to undermine their will."

And "instead of building a Democratic societal dialogue to find appropriate radical and peaceful solutions, the racist dictatorial methodology of the Iranian regime did not bear the burden of the revolution of freedom and social justice, but set fire to Evin prison and caused the death of dozens of political detainees and injured many of them, and this indicates that the Iranian Mullahs' regime began to revenge from the will of democratic peoples from cities and towns to prisons and this may extend to the workers of facilities and factories.

The movement warned against the expansion and intensification of "the Iranian Mullahs regime's policy of mass executions in a systematic way to carry out genocidal crimes".

In the midst of its statement, the movement condemned the fire in Evin prison, saying, "We in TEV-DEM strongly condemn the Iranian mullahs' authorities for setting fire to Evin prison, which in itself is a crime against humanity and against the will of the Peoples' Revolution led by women.

And conclude its statement by calling on "United Nations, human rights and women's organizations, all civil society organizations and national and political forces in the region to support the will of the peoples in Rojhilat and Iranian and to pressure the mullahs' Iranian regime to stop its repressive violations."

The fire broke out in Evin prison, located in Iranian capital Tehran, on Saturday, amid the sound of heavy gunfire.

According to official statistics, the fire resulted in "the death of 4 prisoners, the injury of 61 prisoners, the injury of 10 of them who were taken to the hospital and the condition of 4 of them are seriously," but it is believed that the number is much higher.

It is noteworthy that the prisoners' committee of the Association for Freedom and Democracy in Rojhilat Kurdistan, considered the fire "an attack directed against all prisoners, women, men, prisoners and political activists in the prisons of Iran and Rojhelat Kurdistan."

And warned against committing conspiracies and pressures on prisoners, calling on the Kurdish people and the people calling for freedom in Iran, to go to the squares to protect the dignity and lives of political detainees, and the uprising in Rojhelat (eastern Kurdistan) and Iran.
