Ghalib Mohammed Ali warns of agreements that give Barzani, the power over oil

Former Iraqi MP Ghalib Mohammed Ali told Iraqi Maaluma Agency that "there are political bargains and deals aimed at closing the oil file and giving it to Barzani family, and that does not serve the Iraqi people in general and Kurds in particular, as it should be subject to the authority of Ministry of oil."

He added, "Giving Barzani concessions in oil file is not serving the interest of the people, and the oil must be subject to the control of SOMO Company and the decision of the Federal Court is applied to it and is subject to the authority of the state only."

And Ali indicated that "there are illegal political agreements with Barzani's party, and therefore everyone who agreed with Barzani to loot oil is a partner in this theft and is violating the Federal decision."

It is noteworthy that on February 17, the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq issued its statement about its decision on the unconstitutionality of the oil and gas law of the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

The Federal Court, according to its decision, found that the oil contracts concluded by Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq with oil companies and foreign parties and countries including Turkey, are "invalid", and the Ministry of Oil should also be allowed to audit all agreements concluded by KRG with oil and gas companies.
