​​​​​​​Sit-in tent to denounce Nagihan Akarsal assassination ended in its 2nd day

Today, a delegation from the Autonomous Administration of al-Jazira region and the Hasakah District Council visited the sit-in tent that was erected in the city of al-Hasakah to condemn the targeting and assassination of the activist "Nagihan Akarsal" as a result of an armed attack in the city of Sulaymaniyah.

The delegation included the head of the Women's Body in al-Jazira region, Avin Basho, the co-chair of the Education Body, Rohat Khalil, the co-chair of the al-Hasakah District Council, Samar Al-Abdullah, and the co-chair of the al-Hasakah District Council Maha Shabo.

The head of the Women's Body in al-Jazira region, Avin Basho, gave a speech, in which she said: "Today we remember the two martyrs, Nagihan Akarsal and Zainab Muhammad, and all the martyrs of freedom, and we pay tribute of their greatness and sacrifices in order to achieve the goals of this revolution."

The head of the Women's Body, Avin Basho, pledged to continue the struggle till the last breath, to raise the name of women high, and to achieve a free and dignified life."

The sit-in tent activities were concluded with the reading of a statement by the coordinating member of Kongra Star in the city of al-Hasakah, Lilav Hussein.

The statement stated that the activity of the sit-in tent condemning the attacks targeting women will end today, but the struggle against these attacks continues.

The statement added, "With the resistance of all the female martyrs who were a beacon and role model in the Rojava Revolution, the revolution known as the Women's Revolution, no one can break the will of a free woman and stand in her way."

The statement criticized the silence of humanitarian and human rights organizations "in the face of the brutal immoral practices that are practiced against women."

The statement concluded by saying, "We will continue until our voice is heard to all the world, and until these attacks and targeting of women are stopped, and our motto will remain, "Woman is a free life."

The sit-in event ended with chanting the slogan "Woman is a life of freedom."
