​​​​​​​Afrin region’s women decry Nagihan Akarsal assassination

Thousands of women from Afrin gathered in the Al-Ahdath sub-district of al-Shahba canton, carrying pictures of the martyr Nagihan Akarsal, Gina Amini, and Zeinab Sarukhan, and signs that read "Woman, Life, Freedom," and "Death to betrayal."

The demonstrators stood for a minute of silence, followed by a speech by a member of the JINEOLOJI Research Center for Afrin Canton, Zahrban Hussein, in which she said: "Capitalist parties seek to eliminate women, specifically the educated, conscious woman who does not accept imprisonment in the name of honor, so we see them seeking to liquidate them, and among those women who were victims their dirty policy, the martyr Nagihan Akarsal who spent her life searching for women's freedom and educating her, was not armed with weapons, but she was armed with her ideology that terrified those parties."

Zahrban Hussein continued, "Our will as women will not be weakened and will not be broken because we have taken the thought and philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan as an approach to freedom, and we will not take a step backwards, and these barbaric acts will not have an impact on our resistance and goals, but we will move forward."
