Autonomous Administration of Euphrates Region calls on people to unite and respond to attacks

The Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Region made a statement today at the Free Woman`s Square in the city of Kobane. They condemned the attacks against the regions of North and East Syria, as a result of which a number of citizens were martyred and injured.

Khalid Jerade, co-chair of the Administrative Affairs Office of the Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Region, read the statement. Dozens of administration members and members of the Autonomous Administration institutions, political parties, Civil Society Organizations and families of martyrs were present.

The statement annoucnced that the Turkish occupation state is destroying Syria with the aim of occupation. It was stated that: “The goal of the Turkish state is to destroy our project of a democratic nation, which includes all the people of Syria."

The statement drew attention to the fact that the Turkish state supports mercenary groups and ISIS. The statement continued: “The are attacking North and East Syria with their ground and aerial forces. The Turkish state is shelling the entire border of the region which has resulted in the martyrdom and injuries of a number of citizens. “

On Monday, August 15, the Turkish occupation army shelled the towns of Dirbesiye and Amude and their countrysides which resulted in the injury of 3 citizens.

On Tuesday, August 16, neighborhoods on the city of Kobane and its villages along the border were shelled by artillery and heavy weapons from the bases of the Turkish occupation army. As a result, a 14 year old child was martyred and 5 citizens, including a women, were injured. In addition to this, an armed UAV from the Turkish occupation state bombed the village of Sinjik Sadoun in the district of Amude, resulting in 4 citizens being martyred.

The statement continued by condemning the attacks carried out by the fascist Turkish state and the silence of the international community, law organizations, and the guarantor states, first of all Americe, Russia and the International Coalition. They were pointed out as being responsible for the attacks against, war crimes and massacres against the region.

A call was also made for the international forces, the guarantor states and human rights organizations to end their silence.

The statement conluded by calling on the people of the region and all freedom-loving peoples to stay united and increase their struggle in order to prevent the Turkish occupation`s illegal and immoral actions against the peoples of North and East Syria.
