​​​​​​​PYD: Ethnic genocide against our Yazidi people is a genocide against the Kurdish people in general

PYD General Council issued today, a statement on the occasion of the 8 anniversary of the 73^rd  Yazidi genocide in Shengal .

PYD General Council began its statement with "Today marks the eighth anniversary for the 73^rd  Yazidi genocide in Shengal , which occurred as a result of an international consensus within the framework of drawing the map of the Greater Middle East in which there is no place for the kurds based on the desire of Turkish fascism, the Turkish fascism which was the biggest player in the recruitment and employment of jihadist forces, including ISIS, it took advantage of this opportunity to exterminate the Kurdish people from their historical roots in Shengal, Nenawa, Rojava, and even all of Kurdistan later.

The statement referred to" what happened in Shengal  was a genocide to the Yazidi people that the human does not accept in the 21^st century, where it was the plan to empty Shengal  and the whole region from the Kurdish people, within the framework of demographic engineering that keeps pace the ambitions of the hegemonic forces and their supporters in the region, and despite everything that happened, the plot was thwarted thanks to the organization of Shengal  people to their protecting forces with the support of the forces that came to rescue Shengal , and thus the conspiracy failed, but its repercussion still continuing to this day, there are still thousands of missing and captives, and hundreds of thousands residing in refugee camps nearby are prevented from returning to their home and villages in Shengal .

Added" Shengal  tragedy provided an opportunity for our Yazidi people to regain their confidence and build their own self- protection and their own institutions, including their Autonomous- Administration, but the forces hostile to the Kurdish people existence with the support of their workers are still working to undermine what Shengal people built to protect their existence. It prevents the return of the refugees and awaits the opportunity to attack them and assassinate their leaders and sedition by various means with the aim of intimidating them and forcing them to leave their homeland, the extermination plans that the Turkish fascism still working on are being implemented with the support and assistance of its partners.

PYD General Council statement emphasized" we in the PYD General Council see that the genocide against our Yazidi people came in context of genocide of the Kurdish people in general, and we are confident that the Kurdistan people with all their ingredients, and through organizing their path and with the assistance of their forces, they became able to protect their existence, defending their interests and their aspirations for freedom and democracy, in turn we pledge our martyrs and our people to continue the process of protecting the existence and the democratic rights of our Yazidi people and the entire Kurdish people and their partners in the homeland".
