Societal segments in NE, Syria support political parties’ initiative

On the 28th of last June, 33 parties and political blocs in North and East Syria launched an initiative in which the United Nations, the International Coalition, and the Russian Federation called for imposing no-fly zone on north, east and Syria, after the escalation of threats and attacks by the Turkish occupation state aimed at occupying and annexing more Syrian lands.

The various segments of society believe that imposing no-fly zone on North, East and Syria has become an urgent and necessary requirement at this stage, declaring their support for the initiative of the political parties in this regard.

Al-Hasakah

Citizen Mohammad Saleh Mohi from Ad-Darbasiyah district in al-Hasakah canton, affirmed his support for the initiative of political parties to impose no-fly zone on north, east and Syria to deter Turkey from committing more crimes against the components of the region.

Mohi added: "Through attacks via various planes, Turkey was able to occupy Serêkaniyê/ Ras al Ain, Gire Spi/ Tal Abyed, and Afrin. Had it not been for its aircraft, it would not have been able to occupy any area,” he said, calling on the United Nations to meet the demands of the peoples of north and east Syria to impose no-fly zone on the region.

Diana Al-Abdullah, member of the Training Committee of the Ad-Darbasiyah District Council, said: "The areas that located on the border with the Turkish occupation state are almost daily subjected to attacks by drones."

Diana considered that the initiative launched by the political parties in north and east Syria has become an urgent necessity in the phase the region is going through, to enhance security and stability in the region that Turkey is trying to destabilize and thus empty it of its residents.

In his turn, a notable of the al-Omrah clan in Ad-Darbasiyah, Jamal Haj Mansour, described the initiative launched by the political parties as a "good step", explaining that this step will deter Turkey and put an end to its attacks.

He pointed out that the region has gone through many experiences, starting from Afrin to Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî, and said: "There is no people in the world that resisted 72 warplanes within 58 days with their simple capabilities. Had it not been Turkey's warplanes, it would not have been able to occupy an inch," stressing their support for the Syrian Democratic forces SDF and its support against any attacks on the region.

While the writer and member of the Union of Intellectuals in Ad-Darbasiyah district, Omar Sheikhmus, explained that imposing no-fly zone on north and east Syria is not only the demand of 33 political parties, but the demand of every honorable citizen, and said: "The hostile Turkish attacks pose a great danger to the region."

The co-chair of the Martyrs' Families Council in the Euphrates region, Kilo Ali, also condemned, during an interview with ANHA’s agency, the massacres of the Turkish occupation state in north, east and Syria, and the Zakho region in Başûr, and said, "We know that the goal of the Turkish occupation state is to occupy this region to complete the demographic change that it is currently implementing in Afrin, Serêkaniyê, and occupied Girê Spî, which is why it has recently escalated its attacks on our areas."

He stressed, "Turkey's plans will be confronted with the resistance and strong will of the people of the region, who stand steadfast in their face, and whose adherence to their land constitutes an impenetrable dam against the implementation of its plan to change the region's demographics under the pretext of establishing a "Safe Zone", and we all know that the areas it occupied have become a hotbed of terrorism. The leaders of ISIS mercenaries are being killed by the International Coalition in those areas, so what safety is the Turkish occupation state talking about!?

Kilo Ali called for imposing no-fly zone on north and east Syria, to protect citizens who are at risk of real genocide by the Turkish occupation and its drones, which have become a tool for the displacement of Syrians, and said: "Every political activist and every organization claiming humanity should raise their voice in the face of the Turkish occupation state. To stop its massacres against the people of the region.”

Ali stressed that "the Turkish occupation state seeks to stir up strife among the components of the entire region, and not only in north and east Syria. What we witnessed from the bombing of a resort in the Zakho area in Başûr and its perpetration of a massacre there demonstrates this. It applies the saying (kills the dead and walks with his funeral), and with that the operation tried to ignite the fire of strife between the Kurdish and Arab peoples in Başûr."

As the co-chair of the Council of Martyrs' Families in the Euphrates region, Kilo Ali, explained, "The people of the region today run their own areas, and do not care about the threats of fascist Turkish officials.
