​​​​​​​ Manbij's CA issues statement regarding mass grave

 On the morning of Wednesday, July 28, workers of the People's Municipality in Manbij city found a mass grave of kidnapped by ISIS mercenaries who occupied the city of Manbij from the beginning of 2014 until  August 2016.

 After the exhumation of 29 bodies from the mass grave was completed on Thursday, July 28, the Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij today issued a statement to the public after collecting information and evidence to reach the identity of the bodies that were found.

 The statement was read by the deputy co-chair of the Interior Committee, Abdul Karim Bakkar, in the presence of members of civil and military institutions, health committees, and municipalities, in front of the Democratic Civil Administration building in the city center.

 The text of the statement reads.

Our people in the north and east of Syria have suffered  from the darkening Takfiri terrorism, and the best victims of this terrorism from across the border have provided victims, and as we approach the sixth anniversary of the liberation of Manbij and its countryside from this terrorism, its crimes and atrocities are still uncovered.

 And that was by finding a mass grave while the Municipal Committee in Manbij was working on excavation operations.

 On the morning of Wednesday, July 27, near the Manbij Hotel in the city center, which was previously used as a prison by ISIS, approximately 3 skeletons of bodies were found buried by ISIS militants during its control of the city between 2014-2016.

 The excavation was completed the next day, and a total of 29 bodies were found, ranging in age from 18 to 60. It was also found that only skeletons, clothes and some personal belongings remained. All the bodies were liquidated by a gunshot to the head, and most of them were handcuffed and blindfolded.

Accordingly, we renew the call for the international community to correct wrong policies and commit to combating terrorism in all its forms in accordance with international legitimacy, and to hold accountable countries that have provided and continue to provide various forms of support to terrorist groups over the past years, as our people, with all its components and affiliations, have been the ones who pay the most for the crimes  Terrorism is the blood of its children, its security, stability and livelihood.

 Everyone knows for sure that terrorism in our country would not have spread and expanded without external support from countries known far and near in terms of sending thousands of mercenaries armed with the latest weapons.

 While Turkey opened its borders to tens of thousands of terrorists who came from different parts of the world and provided them with logistical support and training camps under the supervision of Turkish and Western intelligence, whoever seeks to distort this fact also bears the spread of terrorism and the continued fall of these victims.
