NE, Syria notables call to confront Turkish aggression

To denounce the threats of the Turkish occupation state on north and east Syria, and the policies of demographic change in the occupied territories, the Notables Body in North and East Syria today made a statement to public opinion.

The statement was read by a member of the Notables Body, Mustafa Al-Yousifi, in front of the authority's headquarters in the city of Qamishlo, in the presence of dozens of dignitaries and notables of Arab and Kurdish clans in north and east Syria.

The statement of the Senate referred at the outset to the threats of the Turkish head of state, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to launch new attacks on north and east Syria, and continued: "At a time when the whole world, especially in the regions of the Middle East and Syria, is trying the most characteristic of giving precedence to the logic of dialogue and rationality, proposing solutions and preparing for a world peaceful, secure and stable, we find that the Turkish president's threats of a new invasion of north and east Syria contradict all that and make matters more complicated and difficult.

The statement of the notables stated: "We realize that what Ankara and its president call the safe areas is a threat to the existence of the Arabs before the Kurds and the Syriacs before the Yazidis, and that the second step after the displacement of our people and the settlement of other militants from all regions of the world will be to occupy more Syrian lands, the lands of Iraq and the entire region. The main thing is to cover up the terrorist forces and employ them for the agenda of the new Ottoman Turkey, which will create a deep rift in society and blood and wounds that cannot be healed. This step is also a threat to the SDF forces, the global symbol of defeating terrorism and at the same time against the global powers that fought terrorism.

 In its conclusion, the statement called on “Damascus to accept a constructive dialogue between it and the Syrian Democratic Council and with the general Syrian National Democratic Forces to reach a sustainable solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, foremost of which is 2,254, and to reunify Syria as a decentralized, democratic citizen state for all its daughters and sons with all its components.”
