SDC condemns al-Tadamon massacre and calls for inquiry into crimes committed against Syrians

 This came through a written statement issued by the Syrian Democratic Council, commenting on the massacre in Damascus at the hands of the Syrian government forces, and said in the statement:

 The Syrian war has entered the Syrians into a dark tunnel of violence that the world has not witnessed in the present century, so that the Syrian people have become victims of the struggle for power, sectarian alignments, and the foreign agenda.  Recently, the Al-Tadamon neighborhood massacre, which shocked the world, was exposed to the ugliness of the cold-blooded crime committed against 41 blindfolded civilians to be executed by bullets and their bodies burned in a scene that is brutal and horrific to say the least.

 This scene brings to our mind dozens of massacres committed against the Syrians and by the various parties to the conflict, the perpetrators of which have not yet been punished, such as the massacre of the M4 road, where the politician and peacemaker Hevrin Khalaf was brutally liquidated with her driver and companions, and also the crime of mutilating the corpse of Barin Kobani who was dismembered in front of the cameras.  What unites these crimes is the ability of the perpetrators of the crime to look at the cameras with boldness and confidence, as if they are not afraid of punishment because there are those who protect them and push them to commit these massacres.

 We are in the Syrian Democratic Council;  We express our regret over the horror of the scenes, and we demand that those involved be brought to justice, and we also call for the formation of committees to investigate crimes committed against Syrians.  The doors are closed, and all those involved in these crimes must be brought to justice.

 We affirm that a comprehensive political solution cannot be reached if war criminals are not punished, with an explanation of the fate of the missing and detainees.

 It is not possible to build a homeland based on true citizenship and in which the Syrian identity is the universal and supreme identity for all of us, if no crime is condemned, especially those stemming from sectarian, national or religious motives.

 We ask for patience and solace to the families of the victims who learned the fate of their missing people through the published video, and for mercy and forgiveness for the victims.

 We affirm that we in the Syrian Democratic Council are working to document all violations and crimes that occur against all Syrians and we submit them to the relevant international authorities to follow up and punish the perpetrators.  We aspire to be a Syria free of violence, a Syria based on respect for the other, love and peace.”
