Marking 12 March 2004 Uprising PYD renew call to embrace dialogue

In a statement released on the 18 annual anniversary of the 12 March 2004 Qamishlo Uprising General Council of the Democratic Union Party, the PYD, said:

''After 18 years of the 12 March Uprising, we cannot but put get lessons, saying that the language of violence and terrorism against peoples will not attain security or preserve stability, rather it is justice, equality and restoration of legitimate rights is the sole way to that".

While we bring into mind this painful occasion, we lay stress on the need to lay viable foundations and bases in the Syrian society, and to embrace the course of dialogue with all parties and Syrian national powers to avert risks and find solutions that meets aspiration for a democratic solution to move towards a decentralized, democratic Syria.

we call as well on the international community to work in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and not to disregard the occupations by the authoritarian regimes in Syria, especially the Turkish one.

We give pledge to our Kurdish people and all peoples in Syria to work on an approach steadily and to continue struggling until all demands set by the 12 March Uprising are met and a plural democratic community is built up''.
