Women in Aleppo, Tabqa, and Sarin celebrate International Women's Day

Women in Tabqa, Aleppo, Sarin district, and al-Shahba district celebrated the 8th of March, International Women's Day, during separate events on this occasion.

The celebrations under the slogan "Together we protect our revolution and liberate our lands" continue in northern and eastern Syria.

Tabqa

Where the preparatory committee for the activities of March 8 in Tabqa organized a mass party, which was held on the land of the Sports City, west of the city of Tabqa, in the presence of women and representatives of civil and military institutions.

After minute's silence, the spokesperson for the Zenobia Women's Gathering office in Tabqa, Naima Al-Aswad, delivered a speech in which she emphasized that March 8 is a symbol of women's struggle in the face of injustice, violence and slavery, and that every day is a holiday for them.

Naima Al-Aswad congratulated the women of the world, northern and eastern Syria, and those who had the greatest role in the women's revolution advocated by the leader Ocalan.

While the co-chair of the Executive Council in Tabqa, Hind Al-Ali, explained that the March 8 revolution started from Europe, but the real fruits emerged from the achievements of women in north and east Syria, and the great sacrifices of the martyrs who opened the way for women to obtain their rights.

The words were followed by lyrical and theatrical performances by the Baraem Al-Furat Troupe, the Zenobia Troupe of the Center for Culture and Art in Tabqa, the Dabke Folklore Troupe from Raqqa, and the Turkmen Dabkeh Troupe from the city of Manbij.

After the technical performances were completed, the Civil Administration of the Tabqa district, civil society organizations, and the Future Syria Party Council in Tabqa sent messages of congratulations to the women's organizations in the city.

At the end of the event, the Center for Culture and Art presented a theatrical performance on the suffering of women from the inferno of slavery, and how they managed to free themselves from the constraints of society, by rejecting all the dark ideas that changed their life from darkness and failure to success and revolution.

Aleppo

In the city of Aleppo, the March 8 celebration was organized at Shams Hall, located in Al-Shaqif neighborhood in the city of Aleppo, and was attended by representatives of civil institutions, political parties, internal security forces, and the Women and People Protection Units.

The celebration began with a minute of silence, then Roshan, during a speech on behalf of Kongra Star, congratulated the International Women's Day on the leader Ocalan and on all the women who are fighting for their freedom.

Emphasizing the necessity of walking on the path of the martyrs, she said: "We are walking in the footsteps of the martyrs until we attain victory and be liberated."

Later, the Martyr Zilan band presented an artistic performance, consisting of butterflies that embody the role of women in searching for their truth, and the importance and necessity of women organizing themselves and liberating themselves from the restrictions that hamper their freedom.

The Martyr Zilan troupe also performed a folkloric dance, while the Martyr Pervin troupe sang a group of revolutionary songs, and then a play under the title "Capitalism" was shown, in which it explained the extent of capitalism's impact on societies.

The celebration concluded by presenting a group of revolutionary and folkloric songs, and holding Dabkeh episodes.

Al Shahba

The Martyrs' Families Council of Afrin organized a heritage evening for women, on the occasion of International Women's Day in al-Shahba canton.

Dozens of female members of the Martyrs' Families Council gathered in the hall of the martyr Achin Walat, located in the Fafin district of Al-Shahba canton.

The hall was decorated with pictures of Abdullah Ocalan, flags of the Martyrs' Families Council, and tools from the heritage of Afrin and al-Shahba.

The evening began with a minute of silence, after which the members of the Martyrs' Families Council presented a play about the sacrifice of the sons of Afrin for the sake of their homeland.

After that, the Martyr Nojian Sardos band presented a group of revolutionary songs, after which the women of the Martyrs' Families Council presented several Afrinite songs and mawwals, and some of the attendees sang Afrin songs and mawwals.

Then the Martyr Ibrahim and Martyr Joan Kafr Naya groups of Al-Shahba canton presented several songs as a dedication to the people of Afrin.

The evening ended with the Dabkeh episodes being held by the audience, to the tune of traditional songs.

Sarin

Kongra Star also organized a celebration in Sarin district, south of Kobani, in the presence of the people, at the Culture and Art Center in the district.

The celebration began with a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, followed by a speech by the coordinator of the social scene in the district of Sarin, Asmaa Muhammad al-Kunu, in which she confirmed that “a woman is able to impose her presence, and only she possesses the magic wand of change, because it is the first step and the first guard defending the cohesion of the family.” And her peace, and every day is her feast and victory.”

Then the Martyr Burgem Troupe and the Martyr Saria Troupe presented a theatrical performance, centered on women's freedom, followed by some singing performances by the Martyr Khabur Troupe and the Martyr Barin Troupe for the Baki Khado Center for Culture and Art in Kobani.
