Filiz Budak: Shame on UN that a camp was bombed under its tutelage

Yesterday, Tuesday, Turkish warplanes bombed Shengal province, the refugee camp of Martyr Rustam Judi (Mexmûr) in Başûr Southern Kurdistan, and a site near the village of Taql Bakl in the countryside of Derik in North and East Syria.

The Turkish bombardment came in conjunction with the announcement of the defeat of ISIS mercenaries who, on January 20, launched an attack on al-Sina’a prison in Geweran neighborhood of al-Hasakah city, which is intended to hold mercenary detainees.

The co-chair of the Mexmûr (Maxmur) Camp Council, Filiz Budak, told ANHA agency that the Turkish occupation state launched a series of attacks on    camp, Shengal province and Rojava yesterday, confirming that a number of camp residents were injured; Some of them were seriously injured, and they were taken to Mosul hospitals.

Filiz Budak indicated that the Turkish occupation state did not stop its bombing of the areas that fought ISIS since 2014 until now. She wondered: Will the Turkish occupation state avenge ISIS mercenaries?

She drew attention to the existence of a wide conspiracy against the Kurdish resistance fighters who thwarted the plans of the Turkish occupation state, and said: "Turkey wanted to implement its plans in the region, through the proxy war through the mercenaries of ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra, but the people of Shengal, Mexmûr, Rojava, and North and East Syria thwarted its plans to defeat ISIS, the failure of the Turkish plan in the 21st century.

The co-chair of the Mexmûr Camp Council, Filiz Budak, criticized the silence of the Iraqi Government and pointed out the complicity of the Kurdistan Democratic Party with the Turkish attacks. And she said, " Mexmûr Camp has been subjected to dozens of attacks, and it is part of Iraqi territory, but it remains silent, and this is evidence of cooperation. As for the Kurdistan Regional Government, which was imposing its guardianship over the camp, in addition to its silence, it is promoting through its media that the bombing targeted fighters." The PKK, although all the camp residents are civilians, and the goal is to legitimize the occupation.”

Filiz Budak indicated that there are 12,000 people in Mexmûr Camp, including 3,500 children who attend school, indicating that the Turkish attacks greatly affect the camp's residents.

She appealed to the Kurdish people and the democrats to rally around the Mexmûr Camp, and said: " Getting around the Mexmûr Camp means getting around the project of the democratic nation and AANES," stressing that the first area in which the Autonomous Administration project was implemented was the Mexmûr Camp, and it did not succumb to the policies that were practiced against it.

At the end of her speech, Filiz Budak called on the Iraqi government to close the air in front of the Turkish occupation state, and demanded the United Nations to fulfill its responsibilities, and said: "Shame on the forehead of the United Nations that a camp under its tutelage and protection is bombed."
