Killing, kidnapping, destruction of antiquities and cutting down trees..Turkish state continues its crimes in occupied Afrin

 The spokesperson for the Human Rights Organization Afrin - Syria revealed the outcome of the crimes of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in Afrin canton, including kidnappings, killings, cutting down trees and building a new settlement in Shirawa district. He also called on human rights and humanitarian organizations to hold Turkey accountable for its crimes.

 Without accountability, the Turkish occupation state, through its mercenaries branching into more than 20 factions, and with the help of its intelligence apparatus, continues to commit crimes against the remaining civilians in Afrin canton.  Four years into this policy, the occupation combined killing, kidnapping, looting and theft to reach its goal of displacing the population and facilitating the implementation of its plan by changing the demographics of the district.

 With the passage of the fourth anniversary of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries launching a barbaric aggression against Afrin canton on January 20, 2018, and perpetrating, over a period of 58 days, the most heinous crimes against humanity, the occupation continues to follow the path of extermination against the remaining Kurds in the canton.

 According to the official spokesman for the Human Rights Organization Afrin - Syria, Ibrahim Sheikho, since the beginning of January 2022, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries have kidnapped 52 citizens of the canton, including seven women and minors, and killed seven citizens, including two children, a minor and a woman, and cut approximately 4  thousands of perennial and forested olive trees.

 And the kidnapping statistics obtained by our agency’s correspondent were as follows: In the center of Afrin canton and its villages, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries (Jabhat Al-Shamiya, Faylaq Al-Sham, Jaysh Al-Islam, and Political Security) kidnapped 16 citizens, including three women and a minor, during the month of January:

 1- Mustafa Nasser Hamka (50 years old), 2- Hussein Hamka (26 years old), 3- Ocalan Khalil Shoti, 4- Hussein Khalil Shoti, 5- Jassem Muhammad Qasmo, 6- Omar Diab Diab, 7- Jiwan Zuhair Hajj Rashid (  34 years old, 8- Hussein Muhammad (24 years), 9- Mustafa Abdel Rahman Emara, 10- Ahmed Amin Abdo, 11- Salam Amin Alkhdo, 12- Mustafa Mustafa Emara, 13- Muhammad Ahmad Khattab (11 years), 14  Rohat Ibo (24 years old), the other two women are not known by their names.

 In Rajo district and its affiliated villages, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries (the Military Police, Turkish Intelligence, Ahrar al-Sharqiya, and the Levant Front) kidnapped 14 citizens, including a minor, during January:

 1- Ahmed Rashid Rashid (50 years old), 2- Hassan Ahmed  Brim (45 years old), 3- Abd al-Rahman Kuliko (70 years old), 4- Daoud Zinni (50 years old), 5- Ismat Ahmed Abdo (25 years old), 6-  Abdeen  Brim (40 years), 7- Muhammad Omar (45 years), 8- Sabri Manan Rasho (38 years), 9- Khalil Muhammad Hassan (37 years), 10- Ali Rasho, 11- Abd al-Rahman Rasho, 12- Khabat  Muslim Bakr, 13- Khairiya Muhammad Musa (40 years old).

 In Janders district and its affiliated villages, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries (military police and Turkish intelligence) kidnapped 9 citizens, including a woman, during January:

 1- Jihad Barakat (35 years old), 2- Khabat Muhammad Habash (30 years), 3- Ali Mustafa Habash, 4- Muhammad Subhi Hamo, 5- Farhad Muhammad (50 years), 6- Hanan Muhammad Musa (53 years), 7  - Bashar Muhammad Musa (25 years), 8- Ahmed Sabry, 9- Kawkab Ali.

 In each of the districts of Shera, Shiye,  Mobata and Bulbula, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries (military police, Turkish intelligence and Al-Amashat) kidnapped 13 citizens, including two women:

 1- Aref Sheikh Muhammad Muhammad (70 years), 2- Muhammad Al-Hadidi (22 years), 3- Ahmed Muhammad Maho (43 years), 4- Hassan Muhammad  Bairam (58 years), 5- Adel  Oso (43 years), 6  - Faisal Horo, 7- Sherhat Zaim Hassan (28 years old), 8- Radwan Rashid Maho (30 years), 9- Abdul Qader Rashid Hassan (32 years), 10- Ziad Aref Maho (34 years), 11- Ismail Jammo,  12- Nisreen Muhammad Waqas (30 years), 13- Khadija Oso.

 In addition to the kidnappings, according to the director of antiquities for Afrin canton, relying on satellite images to prevent the Turkish occupation from approaching the archaeological sites, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries destroyed, with large excavations, nine hills and archaeological sites throughout the canton of Afrin, during the month of January, and their content was sold on the black market.  With the aim of erasing the heritage and culture of Afrin canton, which are:

 1- The archaeological Tell Aqrab belonging to the village of Iska in the district of Janders (and it is registered in the Syrian antiquities records).

 2- The archaeological hill of Sheikh Abdul Rahman belonging to the district of Jandris (which is registered in the Syrian Antiquities Records) from which they destroyed all layers with an area of ​​27,000 square meters.

 3- The archaeological hill of Faraq, affiliated to Janders district.

 4- Dodari archaeological hill belonging to the town of Medanki, where it was completely destroyed with an area of ​​5,000 square meters.

 5- Ayn Diba archaeological hill affiliated to the center of Afrin canton.

 6- The archaeological site of Bir Jouz, affiliated to the center of Afrin canton.

 7- The archaeological hill of Qara Tabeh, which belongs to the center of Afrin canton.

 8- The archaeological hill of Halabiya, affiliated to the center of Afrin canton.

 9- The archaeological hill of Qah Waqa, which belongs to the district of Raju.

 Ibrahim Sheikho spoke about the construction of a new settlement in the Shirawa district, "With the occupation of Afrin, the Turkish occupation, through the Kuwaiti and Qatari Brotherhood sides, sought to build settlements throughout Afrin canton, the last of which was the completion of the construction of a settlement in the village of Shudera in Shirawa district under the name of Jaffa the Orange, in order to consolidate the occupation  in the boycott and the consolidation of the concept of demographic change.

 It financed the construction of the settlement that bore the name "Jaffa the Orange" in the village of Shodera in the Sherawa district, with donations from Palestinians and managed by the Islamic Relief 48, where 600 housing units were built.

 Ibrahim Sheikho continued, "The crimes of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue against the remaining residents of Afrin, and these crimes are nothing but a policy aimed at emptying the area to prepare the ingredients for the establishment of the occupation of Afrin canton and making it the second brigade of Iskenderun."

 At the conclusion of his speech, Ibrahim Sheikho appealed to the humanitarian and human rights organizations and the Security Council to carry out their humanitarian and moral duty towards the people of Afrin canton, to hold Turkey and its mercenaries accountable for its crimes, and to expel them from all the occupied Syrian territories.
