​​​​​​​PYD: Kobani has become a symbol of free people' resistance

In a statement issued today, on the occasion of seventh anniversary of liberation of Kobani from ISIS mercenaries, the General Council of PYD stressed that Kobani victory breathed the spirit of a people who had lost their dreams, explaining that victory in Kobani will remain immortal in the Kurdish and human memory.

The text of the statement reads:

"The seventh anniversary of Kurdish people's victory over the terrorist organizations in Kobani is passing us by, this anniversary marked a historical turning point in several aspects, the first of which is that the unity of Kurdish people is capable of realizing their aspirations, and this unity has been achieved in Kobani. The second is that the organized people are able to stand against the most powerful aggressive forces, as ISIS had financial and logistical support from many international powers, and we witnessed its end in Al-Baghouz. And the third is that when you are honest in your struggle for the existence and human values, you will find the whole world on your side, and we saw this when millions of people took to the squares all over the world and the declaration of 1st of November as the International Day of Kobani

The memory of the victory in Kobani will remain immortal in Kurdish and human memory, just as the spirit Kobani will be a motive for more victories that the Kurdish people need, the spirit of great martyrs like Galhat, Arin, Revan and hundreds of other martyrs, and the resistance that the history has not witnessed, like in Sarzory and the border gate and dozens of other resistance, History will not forget those mothers and children who refused to move away from the borders and looked at their city and villages with smoke rising from them as if their hearts were burning, and all these scenes will remain immortal in Kurdish memory.

Kurdish people were proud of their fathers and grandfathers who fell as martyrs in front of the brutality of the enemies, or who became victims since the Media state to the present day, or who became leaders to build the glories of others. While Kobani formed the beginning of a Kurd who fights for himself and does not fall into the machinations of the enemies, he is armed with knowledge and human values and defends them, which made him loved and desired by all the peoples of the world, which qualifies him to build his glories and lead the march of freedom and democracy in a place that was the cradle of human civilizations, and then turned into a quagmire of all forms of tyranny, authoritarianism and genocide of peoples.

The victory of Kobani breathed the soul into a people who lost their dreams, and Kobani turned into a symbol of the resistance of free people, and for this reason it became a nightmare that haunts the enemies, and that is why they began to threaten and target Kobani constantly since its victory and to this day, They will continue their plot until their thrones collapse thanks to the spirit that Kobani infused into the heart and mind of the Kurdish people and all the peoples of the region. And the international conspiracy we are witnessing today is nothing but an attempt to take revenge form that spirit.

We in General Council of Democratic Union Party congratulate the Kurdish people for their victory in Kobani and bow in honor and gratitude in front of the memory of the martyrs of freedom in Kobani, all the martyrs of the Kurdish people and the peoples of the region, we are confident that the struggle in the spirit of Kobani will bring victory in the war of liberation of Afrin and Girê Spi and Serê kani, and achieve stability in Syria, so that all its components enjoy freedom and democracy.
