Sheikho discloses the outcome of Turkish occupation crimes in 2022

The spokesperson for the Human Rights Organization, Afrin, Syria, revealed the crimes and violations committed by Turkey and its mercenary groups during the new year in the occupied canton of Afrin.

In a special statement to ANHA’s agency, the spokesperson for the Human Rights Organization Afrin - Syria, Ibrahim Sheikho, revealed the statistics of the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in the occupied canton of Afrin.

Ibrahim Sheikho confirmed that the year 2022 began with the kidnapping of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, 25 citizens of the villages and districts of the occupied canton of Afrin, with the aim of blackmailing their families and asking for ransom.

Regarding the cutting of trees, Sheikho said that the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation cut down about 900 perennial olive trees unfairly, with the aim of logging them and selling them in the markets, despite the presence of the owners of the orchards.

In his speech, Sheikho also indicated that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries had destroyed and robbed two archaeological sites in the villages of the occupied canton of Afrin.

Sheikho explained that crimes and violations are still continuing against the people of Afrin, despite the claim of the Turkish occupation state that it preserves the lives of the people in occupied Afrin from mercenary groups, but its presence and what it practices through mercenary groups in itself is a crime and it must be held accountable for those crimes.

Sheikho drew attention to the fact that the Turkish occupation exploits public opinion by establishing committees called fictitiously "Restoring Rights and Grievances" in order to cover up its crimes against civilians in the villages of Afrin canton.

Sheikho added that the mercenaries of the so-called (Sultan Suleiman Shah) Al-Amshat commit crimes and violations by direct order of the Turkish intelligence, so how can it hold them accountable for those crimes.

In his speech, Sheikho stressed that the Turkish state intends to continue the processes of demographic change in occupied Afrin and to Turkify it at all levels, with the international community neglecting it.
