​​​​​​​Women's Platform in Rojava in commemorating Paris massacre; their legacy is our honour for us

The Women's Platform for Protecting Rojava, on Sunday, issued a written statement, in the commemoration the martyrs of the Paris massacre, the strugglers (Sakîne Cansiz, Fîdan Dogan, Leyla Şaylemez), a copy of which we received.

Sunday (9 January) marks the ninth anniversary of the martyrdom of the Kurdish women leaders (Sara, Rojbîn and Ronahi) who were assassinated in the French capital, Paris, by Turkish intelligence (MIT).

"Three of our revolutionary comrades from Kurdistan were martyred in Paris, the capital of France, by the fascist Turkish state, we commemorate them with great respect and pay tribute to the memory of our martyrs, (Sakîne Cansiz, Fîdan Dogan, Leyla Şaylemez.)

The platform condemned the assassination of women who resisted all forms of injustice and fought with courage and determination for all to be free.

The platform confirmed that the targeting of female strugglers was deliberate and said: Because they have posed a real threat to the interests of the Turkish state and its agents who persecute the people, this crime is one of many murders of women politicians fighting for a free life."

The revolutionary Sakîne Cansiz, had played pioneering role in the struggle of the Kurdistan Worker’s Party, PKK and the liberation of women, and the Kurdish women's movement had been consolidated by the establishment of popular democratic structures and resistance in Kurdistan to overcome patriarchal mentality.

The platform touched upon the struggle and resistance that the revolutionary (Sakîne Cansiz) showed in her life and not succumbing to the state, but rather she fought with courage and will against repressive policies in order to achieve socialist ideas.

It continued: "In Amed (Sakîne Cansiz) has played pioneering role in organizing the resistance in prison, she has never given up her faith in the resistance in her cell, just like the thousands of detainees who remain in Turkish prisons today, under the most severe conditions, where torture or denial of health measures despite the harsh conditions threatening the lives of prisoners is a daily reality."

It considered that "the anniversary of the deaths of all these women is very infuriating in us. However, we will not remain silent on the issue of the murder of women. We are grateful for the legacy that these resistance women have left us and remember their legacy today on the anniversary of their martyrdom, that they fear free and revolutionary women and their struggle for freedom."

"We won't forget who killed our sisters, and we won't forget who's trying to restrict our freedom and our lives even if they pick our beautiful flowers, they can't stop spring."
