The system of self-protection is considered one of the best systems that enable peoples to preserve their cultural, historical and linguistic identity from obliteration, and to protect their political and economic independence in the face of capitalist regimes.

The co-chair of the Democratic Union Party in al-Darbasiyah district, Muhammad Khalaf, says, "The world is run by state authorities, and therefore when the state manages any people, it will run it in proportion to its interests and not with the people's interest; that is, the individual is trained mentally, intellectually and culturally to serve the interest of the state."  ".

Al-Khalaf adds: "When the individual does not have the means for his self-protection, all his rights, his history and his civilization will be in proportion to the state and he will live according to authority and not in accordance with his nature."

Muhammad Khalaf emphasized, "The importance of self-protection lies in the fact that it is a means for the perpetuation of the individual's existence. All living things have their own natural self-protection means. Every animal or plant protects itself by some means, in order to preserve its existence in the face of external dangers."

Muhammad Khalaf believes that "the self-protection or intrinsic protection of a person is a guarantee of his culture, language, history and economy, and that taking it away from any society will remove him from his essence."

Many experiences have proven the effectiveness and success of the self-protection system adopted by societies to protect the land, homeland and culture from extinction. In the Vietnamese wars with the Americans in the fifties of the twentieth century, the self-protection system proved successful, as the Vietnamese people turned into soldiers defending their land.

In Syria, the resistance of Sheikh Maqsoud in the city of Aleppo, during the attacks on the people of the neighborhood from the forces of the Damascus government, the mercenaries of the Jabhat el-Nusrah and others in 2012, over a period of five years, constituted a symbol of resistance and struggle, after the people of the neighborhood organized themselves, according to the revolutionary war of peoples in front of  attempts at ethnic, cultural and physical extermination.

The resistance of the people of Kobani, which lasted for 134 days, against the most dangerous terrorism in the world, represented by the mercenaries of "ISIS", was an icon for the revolutionary peoples who won the will of their children on a global level.

Khalaf pointed out that the Kurdish society has been absent from self-protection, and this society has always been harnessed to be a tool in the hands of the authorities of the nationalist states that occupied Kurdistan.  It is this community."

Intrusive ideas into the Kurdish society, especially in Rojava, began to fade after the start of the July 19 revolution, with the Kurds and other peoples getting to know the truth of their ancient culture, mother tongues, and history, as the regions of northern and eastern Syria today are witnessing a state of self-protection, to defend the  its existence.”

Kurdish writer Ahmed Suleiman says about this, "The concept of self-protection has spread widely in northern and eastern Syria since the start of the Rojava revolution. It  crystallized on the ground clearly through the leadership of the components of the region to the revolution. Through it appeared the extent of their attachment to the land.”

Suleiman pointed out that "the importance of self-protection in protecting the thought, culture, history and language of communities  from extinction and obliteration, would consolidate the peoples' connection to the land and fight special methods of war."

Kurdish writer Ahmed Suleiman noted the methods used by the Turkish occupation state in northern and eastern Syria, saying: "In the recent period, the Turkish occupation state has used special methods of war in northern and eastern Syria, so importance must be given to self-protection."

The co-chair of the Democratic Union Party in al-Darbasiyah district, Muhammad Khalaf, attributes the reason for the conspiracies being hatched against northern and eastern Syria by various regional and international parties, from military and political attacks, imposing a siege and closing the crossings to the region's application of the self-protection system.

Khalaf believes that "all the foreign powers present in northeastern Syria are trying to eliminate the system of self-protection that has been applied in the region," stressing that "each component in the region is working to protect its own region, at a time when foreign powers are trying to impose their protection on the region,  To give itself the space to take control and empty the essential or subjective protection of its content.

Khalaf stressed the need to protect the peoples of northeastern Syria themselves from the private war, which pursues various methods such as recruiting the people of the region as agents in order to tamper with the security of the region, saying: "Society must be more aware of the practices of private war and must support the military forces."

On the Kurdish level, Muhammad Khalaf pointed out that the Kurds in northern and eastern Syria have become pioneers for the four parts of Kurdistan and for the world in securing means of self-protection as revolutionary peoples, stressing that self-protection is what will communicate the reality of the revolutionary people, and will save them from extermination.

The co-chair of the Democratic Union Party in al-Darbasiyah sub-district, Muhammad Khalaf, warned that the lack of self-protection in any society makes it vulnerable to the ambitions of major powers and obliterating its identity, saying: "Every force that controls any geographical spot is initially trying to impose its language and history."
