Turkish occupation authorities again rejected lawyers' requests to meet Ocalan

The brother of leader Ocalan, Mohammad Ocalan, and his agent, Mazloum Deng, had submitted a request to the Public Prosecution in Bursa and the General Directorate last Monday; Each of the families of political prisoners in Imrali prison, namely: brother of Omer Hayrî Konar, Ali Konar, brother of Hamîlî Yildirim, Polat Yildirim, and sister of Weysî Aktaş, Maliha Çetin, also submitted through their lawyers; They also submitted a request to the Imrali Prison Directorate, which has the code F, through the Public Prosecution Office in Bursa, to meet with their families; The Turkish authorities are still rejecting their requests, despite the expiry of the three-month disciplinary punishment imposed on them on August 18.

Leader Ocalan’s lawyers submit a request to meet with their client, twice a week, but they do not receive a response. On this basis, on November 22, the lawyers submitted a request to the Criminal Court in Bursa to meet immediately with their client, and after this request it was found that two penalties were imposed that prevent them from meet him.

The court rejected the lawyers' request, citing the disciplinary punishment imposed on leader Ocalan, which lasted for six months, and also rejected the request of the families of political prisoners, citing the disciplinary punishment imposed on them on August 18, which lasted for three months.

The leader's lawyers, Rizan Sarija and Newroz Uysal, met him on May 2 and 22, and on June 12 and 12, and on August 7, 2019, after 8 years of ban; The brother of the leader, Ocalan, also contacted him by phone on the 25th of March, after he posted on virtual communication sites about his health, for 5 minutes and then cut off the call.
